The Mossberg 590 Shockwave .410 gauge shotgun is a compact, maneuverable pump-action designed for shooters who need serious firepower in tight quarters. Built on a lightweight anodized aluminum receiver with steel-to-steel lockup between the bolt and barrel, this .410 delivers the handling of a pistol with the stopping power of a shotgun. The 14-inch barrel and 26.5-inch overall length make it exceptionally easy to deploy in home defense, truck storage, or any scenario where space is at a premium—yet it cycles 2¾-inch and 3-inch shells with confidence through a 5+1 capacity.
What sets the Shockwave apart is its bird's head pistol grip, a design choice that maximizes maneuverability while helping tame the recoil impulse. The grip geometry favors shooters who appreciate control in close-quarters work. The ambidextrous, top-mounted safety ensures any shooter can operate it intuitively, and the open bottom loading port makes topping off fast and natural. Twin action bars keep the pump running smooth and binding-free, backed by dual shell extractors and an anti-jam elevator that won't let you down when it matters.
Mossberg engineered the 590 Shockwave to deliver genuine utility without NFA complications—you get a short, potent platform that's legal to own and carry in most jurisdictions. A sling swivel point on the magazine cap rounds out the package, ready to accept your own tactical sling. Whether you're setting up a truck gun, a bedside defensive shotgun, or a training platform for light recoil .410 practice, the 590 Shockwave offers proven Mossberg reliability in a footprint that refuses to compromise.
