The Mauser STG-44 .22LR semi-auto rifle brings the legendary lines of one of history's most iconic firearms into a shooter-friendly, modern package. Built by Mauser in Germany, this .22LR semi-auto rifle captures the unmistakable profile and handling of the original WW2-era design, making it perfect for shooters who want a piece of firearms heritage without the expense or logistical demands of a full-power military rifle. Whether you're a history buff, a collector, or simply looking for an accurate .22 that turns heads at the range, the STG-44 delivers genuine character alongside practical shootability.

Built with full pressed metal construction, this semi-auto rifle is engineered to last. The captive breech assembly adds security and reliability, while the adjustable rear sight gives you the freedom to dial in your shooting at different distances. At 9.9 lbs with a 16.5" barrel, the STG-44 balances pointability with stability. The 5.5 lb trigger breaks cleanly, and the 25-round magazine means fewer trips to reload during range sessions. Chambered in affordable, easy-shooting .22LR, this rifle is equally at home plinking with friends or training new shooters—the mild recoil and low report make it forgiving without sacrificing the classic rifle experience.

This is a rifle built for shooters who respect design history and demand quality. The German manufacture and construction standards reflect Mauser's reputation for precision. Whether you're attracted to its WW2 heritage, its modern reliability, or simply the joy of owning a finely made .22LR semi-auto, the STG-44 stands apart from the parade of generic rimfire rifles filling the market.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Mauser STG-44 .22LR good for beginners or training?

Absolutely. The .22LR cartridge is mild-mannered, nearly recoilless, and forgiving for new shooters learning fundamentals. The rifle's manageable weight and balanced design make it easy to handle, and the 25-round magazine reduces the need for frequent reloads during practice sessions.

What kind of ammunition does the STG-44 .22LR use?

This rifle is chambered in .22 LR (Long Rifle), one of the most affordable and widely available cartridges. Standard .22 LR ammunition is inexpensive, making this an economical choice for volume shooting and practice.

Can I adjust the sights on this rifle?

Yes. The STG-44 features an adjustable rear sight, allowing you to zero and adjust your point of aim at different shooting distances.

Is this rifle a direct copy of the original WW2 STG-44?

While the STG-44 .22LR is a semi-auto rifle that captures the iconic look and profile of the historical design, it is chambered in .22LR and built as a modern semi-automatic firearm. It is a historically inspired recreation, not a full-power reproduction.
