The Magnum Research Desert Eagle .50 AE is the iconic hand cannon that defined big-bore pistol shooting. If you're after a semiautomatic pistol chambered in the most powerful commonly available handgun cartridge, the Desert Eagle .50 AE delivers uncompromising presence and stopping power on the range or in the field. The DE50BB model sports a distinctive Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish with black appointments—a finish that looks as serious as it performs, resisting wear and weather while standing out in any collection.

This is a purpose-built instrument for shooters who don't compromise. The gas-operated rotating bolt design cycles reliably through .50 AE ammunition, chambering seven rounds per magazine. At 4 lbs. 5.8 oz., it's substantial but manageable, with a 10.75-inch overall length that demands respect. The 6-inch barrel features polygonal rifling with a 1-in-19" twist, engineered to stabilize heavy .50 caliber projectiles. Whether you're punching steel, hunting large game, or collecting one of the most recognizable magnums ever made, this pistol speaks for itself.

Ergonomics favor shooters with serious hands: the single-action trigger breaks at approximately 4 pounds, with a 2.75-inch reach that's generous and accessible. Combat-type fixed sights sit atop an 8.5-inch sight radius, and a full Weaver-style accessory rail lets you mount optics or lights if your mission demands it. The carbon steel frame, slide, and barrel are built to digest the raw energy of .50 AE cartridges without flinching. This isn't a concealed carry gun or a beginner's pistol—it's engineered for shooters who understand large-bore recoil and respect the platform.

The Burnt Bronze finish pairs toughness with aesthetics, marking this Desert Eagle as a standout on the bench or in the safe. If you've been waiting for the right big-bore semiautomatic pistol, the DE50BB delivers legendary performance in a finish that won't fade.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Desert Eagle .50 AE different from other large-bore pistols?

The Desert Eagle .50 AE is gas-operated with a rotating bolt design, which sets it apart from traditional recoil-operated designs. This design, combined with its substantial 4+ pound weight and engineering, helps manage the considerable recoil of .50 AE ammunition. It's one of the few commercially available semiautomatic pistols chambered in this cartridge.

What sight options does the DE50BB come with?

The DE50BB features combat-type fixed sights. It also includes a full Weaver-style accessory rail, so you can mount an optic or light if desired for enhanced targeting capability.

Is this pistol suitable for concealed carry?

No. At 10.75 inches in overall length and over 4 pounds unloaded, the Desert Eagle .50 AE is a full-size, purpose-built range and field pistol designed for shooters who can handle its size and recoil. It's not intended for concealed carry applications.

How many rounds does the magazine hold?

The DE50BB magazine holds 7 rounds of .50 A.E. ammunition.
