The LSI Howa M1500 Walnut Hunter is a classic, no-nonsense 7mm Remington bolt-action rifle built for hunters who value accuracy and reliability in the field. This rifle combines traditional aesthetics with modern performance: a hand-finished Monte Carlo walnut stock pairs cleanly with a blued steel action and receiver, while a 24-inch barrel delivers the velocity and shot-to-shot consistency that serious hunters demand. At 7.4 pounds, it's light enough for a day in the hills but substantial enough to manage recoil and maintain control in rapid follow-up shots. Whether you're chasing elk across open country or hunting whitetail from a stand, the M1500 Walnut Hunter is a rifle that handles—and points—like it was made for the job.
The action speaks for itself: a three-position safety, drilled and tapped receiver ready for your optic, and a HACT trigger system that breaks clean and predictable. The hinged floor plate allows fast magazine changes when you need them, while sling swivel studs are already fitted for your preferred carry setup. A threaded 5/8x24 muzzle gives you the option to add a suppressor or muzzle device down the road. The rubber recoil pad soaks up felt recoil without shifting or slipping—a small detail that matters after a dozen rounds on the range or a morning of hunting.
Howa's sub-MOA accuracy guarantee means you can rely on this rifle to deliver tight groups from the moment you walk out of the shop. No sights are included, which gives you the freedom to mount exactly the optic system that fits your hunting style and budget. The 3+1 capacity—three in the box, one in the pipe—is plenty for most hunting situations and keeps the rifle trim and maneuverable.
This is a rifle for hunters who don't want to compromise on ergonomics, trigger feel, or wood. Build a load, glass the country, and trust the gun to do its part.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the M1500 Walnut Hunter come with iron sights?
No. The rifle has no sights installed, but the receiver is drilled and tapped so you can mount the scope or optic of your choice. This approach lets you build the rifle exactly to your hunting setup without paying for sights you won't use.
Can I add a suppressor to this rifle?
Yes. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24, which is the standard pattern for suppressors and muzzle devices in this caliber. Just ensure your chosen suppressor is rated for 7mm Remington.
What does the sub-MOA accuracy guarantee mean?
Howa guarantees that this rifle will shoot groups smaller than one minute of angle (MOA)—roughly 1 inch or less at 100 yards—when fired from a rest with quality ammunition. This is a commitment to the mechanical accuracy of the rifle itself.
Is the walnut stock durable for field hunting?
Yes. The Monte Carlo walnut stock is hand-finished and designed for hunting use. Walnut offers a classic look and natural durability; like any wood, it will develop character with use and weather. Regular light oil or wax maintains the finish and weather resistance.
