The LSI Howa M1500 Walnut Hunter in 300 Win Mag is a classic bolt-action rifle built for serious hunters who demand accuracy and reliability in the field. This 24-inch barrel rifle combines a traditionally stocked, no-frills design with modern performance—the kind of gun that earns trust through consistent results rather than flash. With a proven Howa action, tight three-shot magazine capacity, and factory sub-MOA accuracy guarantee, this is a rifle designed to deliver when it counts.
The M1500 Walnut Hunter wears a hand-finished Monte Carlo walnut stock that gives it real character—not plastic, real wood. The blue finish on the receiver and barrel develops authentic patina with use, a hallmark of traditional rifle craftsmanship. At 7.4 pounds with a 43.5-inch overall length, it's lean enough for all-day hunting without feeling whippy or unstable. The three-position safety is smooth and intuitive, and you get sling swivel studs installed from the factory, so you're ready to strap on your preferred carry setup.
The 300 Win Mag cartridge has earned its reputation for long-range power and versatility across North American big game. This rifle accepts optic mounts on a drilled and tapped receiver, leaving you free to choose your glass. The threaded 5/8x24 muzzle accommodates suppressors, muzzle brakes, or flash hiders if you want to customize. A hinged floor plate makes magazine changes and cleaning simple, and the HACT trigger is tuned for a clean, predictable break. Add the factory sub-MOA accuracy guarantee, and you have a rifle that's ready to shoot well right out of the box.
This is a rifle for hunters who appreciate honest construction, traditional ergonomics, and a proven platform. No unnecessary features, no marketing spin—just a solid, accurate bolt-action rifle that handles the work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What scope mounting options does the M1500 Walnut Hunter have?
The receiver is drilled and tapped, so you can mount any standard two-piece scope rings or a one-piece picatinny base. There are no open sights, so optics mounting is your primary aiming solution. This gives you flexibility to choose the scope that fits your hunting style and distance requirements.
Can I use a suppressor or muzzle brake on this rifle?
Yes. The muzzle is threaded 5/8x24, which is the standard for most modern suppressors and muzzle devices. You can add a suppressor, brake, or flash hider as needed for your setup.
What does the sub-MOA accuracy guarantee mean?
The manufacturer guarantees this rifle will shoot sub-MOA (less than 1 minute of angle, or roughly under 1 inch at 100 yards) with quality ammunition. It's a promise that the rifle is built to deliver inherent accuracy out of the box.
Is this rifle suitable for long-range hunting?
Yes. The 300 Win Mag is a proven long-range cartridge, and the 24-inch barrel with 1-10 twist rate supports that mission. Combined with the drilled and tapped receiver for scope mounting and the factory accuracy guarantee, this rifle is ready for distance shooting. Your success will also depend on your choice of optic, ammunition, and skill.
