The Keystone Sporting Arms Crickett .22LR youth rifle in purple synthetic is purpose-built for young shooters learning firearm fundamentals. This manually cocking single-shot bolt action rifle chambered in .22 LR offers the ideal balance of simplicity, safety, and shootability for first-time hunters and competitive junior marksmen. The compact 30-inch overall length and 11.5-inch length of pull fit smaller frames without sacrifice, while the lightweight 3-pound design makes extended range sessions comfortable for developing proper technique and confidence.

Crickett rifles have earned their reputation in youth shooting programs and hunter education courses because they strip away complexity. The single-shot, manually cocked design forces deliberate trigger control and concentration—exactly what beginning shooters need. The rebounding firing pin safety prevents accidental discharge between shots, and the approximately 2.5- to 3-pound trigger pull delivers predictable breaks for clean fundamentals training. Iron sights—a fixed front blade and adjustable rear peep—keep focus on marksmanship essentials, while the drilled and tapped receiver accepts Crickett-pattern scope mounts for those ready to step into precision shooting.

The purple hydro-dipped synthetic stock isn't just eye-catching; it's durable, weather-resistant, and low-maintenance compared to wood—ideal for young shooters who'll take their rifle into the field in all conditions. Whether your kid is training for a hunter safety course, competing in 4-H shooting sports, or simply learning to shoot on the family range, this Crickett delivers reliability and ergonomics without the kick or cost of centerfire alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Crickett .22 good for teaching a child to shoot?

Yes. The single-shot, manually cocked design forces deliberate, careful shooting—perfect for building fundamental trigger control and safety discipline. The light recoil, low report, and minimal cost per shot make it ideal for extended practice and confidence building in young shooters.

Can I add a scope to this rifle?

Yes. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Crickett-pattern scope mounts, allowing you to upgrade to optics as your shooter develops and moves into precision or longer-range training.

What is the length of pull, and does it fit smaller shooters?

The length of pull is 11.5 inches, designed specifically for youth and smaller-framed shooters. The compact 30-inch overall length and 3-pound weight also make it proportionate and comfortable for junior hunters and competitors.
