The Keystone Sporting Arms Crickett .22LR youth rifle in blue synthetic stock is a purpose-built rimfire trainer designed for young shooters learning fundamental rifle handling and marksmanship. Built on a single-shot bolt-action platform, the Crickett puts safety and simplicity front and center—a rebounding firing pin mechanism automatically blocks the hammer to prevent accidental discharge, while the manual cocking action and light 2.5–3 lb. trigger pull demand deliberate, controlled shooting. At just 3 lbs. and 30 inches overall, with an 11.5-inch length of pull, this rifle fits smaller frames comfortably, making it an honest first centerfire alternative for hunters and shooters introducing kids to the sport.

The 16.125-inch barrel keeps sight radius practical for youth use, and the Crickett ships ready to mount optics—the receiver is drilled and tapped for Crickett scope mounts. Fixed front sight and adjustable rear peep sight come standard for iron-sight zeroing, a skill every rifleman should master. The durable blue synthetic stock resists weather and abuse, ideal for field training and backyard range time alike.

Whether your young shooter is stepping up from air rifle to .22 rimfire, starting their path toward centerfire hunting, or you're building confidence at the range, the Crickett delivers honest, no-nonsense training in a rifle engineered for their size and strength. It's the kind of tool that teaches respect for the fundamentals and builds muscle memory that transfers to any rifle they'll handle later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Crickett .22LR a good rifle for introducing kids to shooting?

Yes. The Crickett is engineered specifically for young shooters: the short 11.5-inch length of pull fits smaller frames, the lightweight 3 lb. build prevents fatigue, and the single-shot bolt-action design teaches fundamental safety and deliberate shooting. The low recoil of .22LR and light trigger pull help new shooters build confidence and develop proper technique.

Can I mount a scope on the Crickett?

Yes. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Crickett scope mounts, so you can add optics as the shooter's skill progresses or as their needs change.

What safety features does the Crickett have?

The Crickett uses a rebounding firing pin mechanism that automatically blocks the hammer, preventing accidental discharge. The manual cocking action and single-shot design also reinforce safe handling practices by requiring deliberate action before each shot.

What sights come with the Crickett?

The rifle ships with a fixed front sight and an adjustable rear peep sight, allowing shooters to zero and train using iron sights—a fundamental skill before moving to optics.
