The Keystone Sporting Arms Crickett .22LR Blue Laminate Youth Rifle is a single-shot bolt-action rimfire built from the ground up for young shooters learning the fundamentals of marksmanship. At just 3 pounds with an 11.5-inch length of pull, the Crickett fits kids and smaller-framed adults who need a rifle scaled to their proportions—not a scaled-down version of a full-size gun. The .22 Long Rifle caliber delivers low recoil, minimal report, and forgiving ballistics, making it ideal for youth hunters, junior competitive shooters, and anyone introducing a new generation to safe rifle handling.

The manually cocking single-shot action forces the shooter to slow down and focus on fundamentals: breath control, sight picture, and trigger management. There's no magazine to fumble, no rapid-fire temptation—just one shot per loading cycle, which is exactly what builds disciplined marksmanship. A rebounding firing pin safety blocks the pin until the trigger is pulled, preventing accidental discharge during handling or falls. The two-stage trigger breaks at approximately 2.5 to 3 pounds, light enough for young hands to execute a clean, surprise break.

The blue laminate stock is tough and weather-resistant, standing up to the bumps and rough handling that come with active use. Iron sights come standard: an adjustable rear peep and fixed front sight let shooters dial in at close ranges without additional expense. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Crickett scope mounts, so upgrading to glass is straightforward when you're ready. A 16.125-inch barrel keeps the rifle compact and maneuverable, while the 30-inch overall length ensures the gun stays proportional and easy to mount from a seated or prone position.

Whether you're introducing a child to the shooting sports, starting your own marksmanship journey, or building a reliable .22 for small-game hunting, the Crickett delivers honest, no-frills performance. It's the kind of rifle that doesn't make excuses and doesn't ask for much—just good ammunition, a steady hand, and respect for the fundamentals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Crickett youth rifle good for teaching kids to shoot?

Yes. The single-shot bolt-action design and light .22LR recoil force deliberate, focused shooting rather than rapid-fire habits. The compact proportions and 11.5-inch length of pull fit growing shooters without requiring a full-size rifle. It's a proven platform for introducing young marksmen to fundamental technique.

Can I add a scope to the Crickett?

Yes. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Crickett scope mounts, so you can install an optic when your shooter is ready for magnification or precision work beyond iron sights.

What's the length of pull, and does it fit adults?

The length of pull is 11.5 inches, sized for youth and smaller-framed shooters. While it's engineered as a youth rifle, adults of slight build or those who prefer a compact setup can use it comfortably.

What comes standard on this rifle?

The Crickett ships with adjustable rear peep and fixed front iron sights, drilled and tapped receiver for scope mounts, and the blue laminate stock. No optic or scope mount is included—those are added as needed.
