The Kel-Tec RDB 5.56 NATO 17" bullpup rifle in OD Green is a genuinely different take on compact rifle design. If you've shot traditional bullpups, you know the hassle: brass flying toward your face or your shooting buddy, awkward ergonomics that favor one side, and the constant fidgeting with controls. The RDB flips that script with a downward shell ejection system that sends casings straight down and out of your sight picture—and out of everyone else's way. That alone changes how you shoot, especially in tight spaces or in formation training.
Built around 5.56 NATO with a 17.3" barrel and a 1:7 twist rate, the RDB keeps you mobile without sacrificing velocity or accuracy. At 6.7 pounds and just 27.3 inches overall, you're looking at a rifle that handles like a carbine but delivers rifle-length ballistics. Magazine compatibility with standard AR-15 mags means you're not locked into proprietary inventory. The 4-pound trigger breaks predictably, and the rifle is adjustable for a range of ammunition variations—useful when you're working up loads or dealing with the ammo situation in the real world.
True ambidextrous operation matters whether you're left-handed, training both sides, or working through barriers. The OD Green finish is practical and pairs well with most modern kit. This isn't a rifle chasing hype; it's purpose-built for shooters who value clean ergonomics, compact handling, and no-compromise ambidextrous function. Whether you're setting up a truck gun, running it through a 2-gun match, or just want a rifle that works in tight quarters, the RDB delivers on the bullpup promise without the traditional compromises.
