The Inland 1911 A1 Government .45 ACP is a no-nonsense, full-size single-action pistol built on the proven 1911 platform. With a 5-inch barrel, classic parkerized finish, and a 7-round magazine capacity, this is a straightforward fighting pistol—the kind that works whether you're running it at the range, in a defensive role, or just appreciating one of America's most enduring designs. Inland's manufacturing lineage goes back decades, and this model carries that tradition forward with solid construction and honest performance.

The parkerized finish is no cosmetic choice. This gray-to-brown protective coating is practical, corrosion-resistant, and has zero pretense—it shows wear the way a working gun should. At 39 ounces, the Government model carries with authority but remains manageable for all-day use. Fixed sights keep the platform simple and reliable, eliminating the variables that come with adjustable optics mounts on a classic design.

Whether you're a 1911 purist, building a practical .45 ACP carry or duty setup, or just want a centerfire pistol that follows the blueprint that's worked since 1911, the Inland ILM1911 delivers without frills or surprises. This is the gun you buy when function and reliability matter more than the latest ergonomic tweaks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a .45 ACP pistol suitable for concealed carry or everyday defense?

Yes. The Inland Government model is chambered in .45 ACP and sized as a full-size duty/carry platform. At 39 ounces with an 8.5-inch overall length, it's larger than a compact, but many shooters run this configuration for daily carry or home defense. Fit inside the waistband (IWB) and appendix carry are both feasible depending on your holster and setup.

What does "parkerized finish" mean and how durable is it?

Parkerized is a chemical conversion coating that creates a durable, slightly porous gray-brown surface. It resists corrosion well and is standard on historical and modern military-style firearms. It will patina and show use over time—that's normal and part of its charm. With basic maintenance (light oil, dry storage), parkerized pistols last decades.

Does this pistol have adjustable sights?

No. The Inland ILM1911 is equipped with fixed sights, which is typical for traditional 1911 Government models. Fixed sights are reliable, fast to use, and require no adjustment or zero verification. If you need adjustable sights for fine-tuning your point of impact, you would need to have them installed aftermarket.

What comes in the box with this pistol?
