The Heritage Rough Rider .22LR/.22WMR rimfire revolver is a straightforward, affordable single-action sixgun that appeals to shooters who want reliable plinking, small-game hunting, or budget-friendly trigger time without the complexity or cost of centerfire platforms. With interchangeable .22 Long Rifle and .22 Winchester Magnum compatibility, this 4.75-inch barrel revolver gives you flexibility in ammunition selection and performance depending on your needs—lighter .22LR for casual range work, or hotter .22 WMR for small varmints or longer-distance accuracy. Built in the USA, the Rough Rider combines a steel barrel and cylinder with a lightweight alloy frame, keeping the gun manageable at 33.4 ounces while maintaining the rugged aesthetics of a classic single-action design.

The fixed open sights keep things simple and true to traditional revolver handling, making this gun an excellent teaching platform for new shooters learning single-action mechanics or for anyone who prefers manual-operated firearms without electronic or modern tactical overlays. The 6-shot cylinder and nickel trigger round out a no-frills package that emphasizes function over features—exactly what you need if you're building a budget rimfire battery or want a reliable truck gun that won't break the bank if it takes a bump.

Black polymer grips provide comfortable, weather-resistant handling, while the combination of blued steel and black alloy finishes gives it a clean, cohesive look. Whether you're zeroing a new shooter, running casual matches, or just putting rounds downrange on a Saturday afternoon, the Heritage Rough Rider delivers honest rimfire performance at a price point that won't hurt your wallet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot both .22 Long Rifle and .22 Magnum in the same gun?

Yes. The Rough Rider's cylinder accepts both .22 LR and .22 WMR ammunition. This flexibility lets you choose .22 LR for economical practice or small targets, and .22 WMR for increased velocity and performance when needed.

What kind of sights does it have?

The Rough Rider is equipped with fixed open sights. These are simple, reliable, and true to single-action revolver tradition—no adjustments needed out of the box, and they're durable for field use.

Is this gun good for beginners or small-game hunting?

The Rough Rider's straightforward single-action operation and rimfire calibers make it a popular choice for teaching new shooters fundamental revolver handling. Its lightweight build and low recoil are ideal for training. The option to use .22 WMR also makes it suitable for small varmints or pest control where .22 LR may be insufficient.

What does it weigh?

The Rough Rider weighs 33.4 ounces, making it light and portable for backpacking, truck carry, or extended outdoor use without fatigue.
