The Heritage Mfg Rough Rider .22LR revolver is a classic single-action rimfire handgun built for shooters who want affordable, reliable fun at the range, in the backyard, or around the property. Chambered in .22 LR and holding six rounds, this 4.75-inch barrel revolver combines the traditional profile and smooth single-action trigger of Heritage's big-bore designs with the low recoil and economical ammunition costs that make .22 rimfire shooting accessible to everyone from beginners to seasoned shooters. The distinctive gold Cerakote finish on the frame and barrel stands out while the black oxide cylinder delivers practical durability.

Weighing just over 30 ounces unloaded, the Rough Rider handles like a classic Western single-action but with the pointability and speed that make it equally at home on a shooting range, dispatching varmints, or teaching the fundamentals of revolver marksmanship. The fixed front sight and rear notch keep things simple and reliable—no batteries, no complicated adjustments. The poly grip with star inlays provides a secure hold, and the manual safety adds an extra layer of control for safe handling and storage.

Whether you're looking for an affordable first revolver, a truck gun, or a dedicated .22 for casual plinking and small-game control, the Heritage Rough Rider delivers authentic single-action character without the sticker shock. Built on a zinc alloy frame with an alloy steel cylinder and barrel, it's designed to handle years of regular use and regular cleaning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Heritage Rough Rider .22LR best used for?

The Rough Rider is an ideal platform for backyard plinking, range training, small varmint and pest control, teaching revolver fundamentals, and anyone seeking an affordable, low-recoil single-action revolver. Its light weight and simple operation make it great for extended shooting sessions without fatigue.

Can I use .22 WMR ammo in this revolver?

No. This version is chambered exclusively in .22 LR. Heritage does offer a two-cylinder combo model that allows you to shoot either .22 LR or .22 WMR, but this model comes with one .22 LR cylinder only.

What's included with the revolver?

You receive the Heritage Rough Rider with one six-round .22 LR cylinder, poly grip with star inlays, and manual safety engaged. No extra cylinders or accessories are included with this standard model.

Is the gold finish durable?

Yes. The frame and barrel are finished in Cerakote Gold, which is a modern ceramic-based coating designed to resist wear, corrosion, and fading through regular use and proper cleaning. The cylinder is finished in black oxide for additional durability.
