The Heritage Rough Rider .22 LR 16" revolver with adjustable sights is a single-action wheelgun built for shooters who want an affordable, low-recoil option for plinking, small game, or learning solid handgun fundamentals. The long 16-inch barrel and six-round cylinder chambered in .22 LR make it a genuine point-and-shoot tool—not a tactical piece, but a straightforward revolver that harks back to the rimfire revolvers that taught generations of hunters and shooters. If you're looking for a plinker that won't beat you up, handles like a classic single-action, and comes in at a price that lets you actually use it without worry, this is the gun.

Heritage built the Rough Rider around an alloy frame, which keeps weight manageable and cost reasonable. The 16-inch barrel gives you velocity and sight radius that .22 LR actually deserves—you'll see the difference downrange compared to snubbier designs. Cocobolo grips provide good feel in the hand and a touch of character; the adjustable sights let you dial in where you're actually hitting instead of living with fixed aim.

Single-action means you'll thumb the hammer back for each shot, which teaches trigger discipline and gives you full control. There's no mystery here: it's a revolver that does one thing well and does it affordably. Whether you're breaking in a younger shooter, shooting silhouettes at 25 yards, or just spending an afternoon at the range without worrying about ammunition cost, the Rough Rider won't disappoint. The blue finish is clean and practical.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Heritage Rough Rider good for beginners or youth shooters?

Yes. The .22 LR cartridge produces minimal recoil and report, making it ideal for learning proper grip, trigger control, and sight alignment without flinching. The single-action design teaches deliberate shooting mechanics.

What's the 16-inch barrel good for?

The longer barrel extends sight radius, which improves accuracy potential, and generates better velocity from .22 LR ammunition. It's excellent for target shooting at moderate distances.

Can I adjust the sights myself?

Yes. The adjustable sights allow you to dial elevation and windage to match your point of impact without relying on fixed sight geometry.
