The Heritage Rough Rider .22LR/.22 Mag small bore revolver with cocobolo grips is a single-action rimfire built for shooters who want classic Western styling without breaking the bank or dealing with centerfire recoil. Chambered in both .22 Long Rifle and .22 Magnum, this scaled-down interpretation of the legendary SAA delivers the look and handling of a traditional six-gun in a platform that's perfect for plinking, small-game hunting, and casual range work. The cocobolo grips add genuine character—warm, figured wood that feels good in your hand and looks like it belongs on a gun worth far more than it costs.

What sets the Rough Rider apart is attention to details that don't show up on a spec sheet. The barrel is micro-threaded and precisely seated in the frame to maintain the tightest cylinder gap possible, which translates to better accuracy and reliable performance. The machined steel barrel and cylinder, combined with a tight lock-up and well-timed action, mean your shots will go where you aim them. A hammer block safety mounted in the recoil shield keeps the gun secure, with a red-dot indicator to show when you're ready to fire. The flat-sided hammer profile adds to the authentic Old West aesthetic without sacrificing function.

At 4.75 inches, the barrel length strikes a balance between handling and sight radius—short enough to carry and shoot comfortably, long enough to deliver the velocity and accuracy .22 rimfires are known for. The 6-round cylinder and approximately 6-pound trigger pull feel natural to anyone familiar with traditional single-action revolvers. Whether you're introducing someone to shooting, working on trigger control and fundamentals, or just enjoying an afternoon of low-recoil shooting, this Heritage revolver won't disappoint.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot both .22 LR and .22 Magnum from the same revolver?

Yes. The Heritage Rough Rider is chambered in .22 combo, which means a single cylinder accepts both .22 LR and .22 Magnum cartridges. You can load and fire either caliber without any modifications.

What kind of sights does this revolver have?

The Rough Rider comes with fixed open sights: a notch at the rear and a blade at the front. These are simple, durable, and easy to use for casual shooting and small-game hunting.

Is this revolver good for beginning shooters or training?

Yes. The .22 LR and .22 Magnum cartridges produce minimal recoil and noise, making this Heritage revolver an excellent choice for introducing new shooters to firearm fundamentals. The single-action design teaches proper trigger control, and the low cost per round encourages practice.

What are the grips made of?

The grips are crafted from cocobolo wood, a durable and attractive material that adds aesthetic appeal and provides solid, comfortable handling. They give this rimfire revolver a classic Western appearance.
