The Henry Long Ranger in 6.5 Creedmoor is a modern lever-action rifle built for hunters and shooters who want the smooth, quick-cycling handling of a classic action paired with serious long-range capability. This isn't your grandfather's lever gun—Henry engineered this rifle around the ballistics of 6.5 Creedmoor, a cartridge that's become the go-to for mid-range hunting and precision shooting. At 7 lbs with a 22-inch barrel and 42.5 inches overall length, it's light enough to carry all day but substantial enough to shoot accurately from field or bench.

The rifle comes drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and Henry includes a scope mount so you're ready to glass-up out of the box. The American walnut stock feels right in your hands and looks like a rifle that means business. A removable magazine feeds four rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor, and the 1:8 twist rate is optimized for this caliber's heavier match and hunting bullets. The hard-anodized black receiver and blued barrel resist corrosion, while the transfer bar safety keeps the hammer secure until you're ready to fire. A black rubber recoil pad and quick-detach swivel studs round out the setup—practical features that work whether you're on the range or in the field after deer, elk, or other large game.

What sets the Long Ranger apart is Henry's commitment to making a lever gun that competes with bolt actions on precision and versatility. There are no iron sights—this is an optics platform from the factory. The included hammer extension makes the lever faster and easier to cycle even when you're wearing gloves or a jacket. If you've been curious about lever-action rifles but thought they weren't serious hunting or competition tools, the Long Ranger in 6.5 Creedmoor proves otherwise.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes with this rifle—do I need to buy a scope separately?

The Long Ranger ships with a scope mount included, so you're ready to attach your optic immediately. You will need to supply your own scope and rings. The rifle has no iron sights, so a scope is necessary to shoot accurately.

Is the Long Ranger suitable for hunting large game like elk or deer?

Yes. Henry designed this rifle specifically for hunting and large game, and the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge is a proven choice for medium to large game at moderate to extended ranges. The 4-round capacity and quick lever action make follow-up shots straightforward in the field.

Can I remove the magazine to load and unload the rifle?

The magazine is removable, which makes loading, unloading, and field reloads convenient. The 4-round capacity means you'll need to reload more often than you would with a larger-capacity rifle.

What's the difference between a 1:8 twist and other twist rates?

The 1:8 twist is optimized for 6.5 Creedmoor. It spins the bullet at a rate that stabilizes the heavier, longer bullets commonly used in this caliber, ensuring accuracy at distance. This rifle is engineered around this cartridge and twist combination.
