The Henry Long Ranger lever action rifle in .308 Winchester brings classic American rifle handling to serious hunting and long-range shooting. This 20-inch barreled rifle pairs the smooth, rapid-fire capability of lever action with ballistics suited to medium to large game and target work at extended distances. If you're drawn to the speed and reliability of a lever gun but need the reach and power of a modern rifle cartridge, the Long Ranger bridges that gap without sacrificing the rugged simplicity that made lever actions legendary.

Built on Henry Repeating Arms' reputation for quality American manufacturing, the Long Ranger delivers a purpose-built platform for hunters and shooters who value quick followup shots and traditional ergonomics. The hard-anodized black receiver pairs with an American walnut stock for a clean, no-nonsense aesthetic. A 1:10 twist rate ensures stable bullet flight in .308, while the 4-round magazine keeps things trim without sacrificing capacity for typical hunting scenarios. All the essentials are there: drilled and tapped receiver for optics, iron sights (folding rear and ramp front with ivory bead), transfer bar safety, and quick-detach sling swivel studs.

At 7 pounds and 40.5 inches overall, it's light enough for a day in the field yet solid in the shoulder. The black rubber recoil pad tames .308 kick, and the included scope mount and hammer extension give you options right out of the box whether you go optics-first or keep it traditional with iron sights. This is a rifle that respects the lever action heritage while refusing to compromise on capability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Henry Long Ranger suitable for hunting larger game?

Yes. The .308 Winchester chambering and 20-inch barrel make it well-suited for medium to large game hunting. The lever action provides quick followup capability if needed, and the included iron sights or drilled-and-tapped receiver let you set up for the hunting scenario you prefer.

Can I mount a scope on the Long Ranger?

Absolutely. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope rings, and Henry includes a scope mount with the rifle. You can set it up for optics or run the excellent iron sights as-is—both work well depending on your needs.

What comes in the box with this rifle?

The rifle ships with a scope mount, hammer extension to aid cocking, and quick-detach sling swivel studs already installed. The 4-round removable magazine is also included.

How does the lever action feel compared to a bolt gun?

Lever actions are known for fast, intuitive operation and natural point-and-shoot ergonomics. The Long Ranger's transfer bar safety and traditional controls will feel instantly familiar if you've handled lever rifles before. The main trade-off versus a bolt gun is typically capacity and ultra-long-range precision, but the Long Ranger excels at hunting ranges and close-to-medium tactical work.
