The Henry Single Shot 12ga shotgun is a straightforward, reliable break-open shotgun built for hunters and sport shooters who value simplicity and durability. With a 28-inch barrel and 3.5-inch chamber, this shotgun handles both standard and magnum loads, giving you flexibility for waterfowl, upland game, and clay shooting. The break-open action is intuitive and easy to maintain—no springs or complex mechanisms to foul up in the field. At 6.83 lbs, it's light enough to carry all day without fatigue, and the American walnut stock feels right at home in any hunting camp.

Henry Repeating Arms has a reputation for building firearms that work, and this single-shot embodies that philosophy. The round blued steel barrel resists corrosion, and the brass bead front sight gives you a solid aiming point for moving targets or quick follow-ups. This isn't a tactical shotgun or a competition rig—it's a practical, honest gun that does one job well and won't let you down when it counts.

Whether you're stepping into shotgun hunting for the first time or adding a spare gun to your safe, the Henry single-shot offers dependable performance without unnecessary complexity or cost. The break-open design makes it easy to load, unload, and inspect, and the overall length of 37 inches keeps it maneuverable in brush and from a vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ammunition can I use in the Henry 12ga single-shot?

The 3.5-inch chamber accepts both standard 2.75-inch and 3-inch loads, as well as 3.5-inch magnum ammunition. Always verify your shell length and load selection match your shotgun's chamber and your hunting or sport-shooting needs.

Is this shotgun good for hunting?

Yes. The 28-inch barrel and 3.5-inch chamber make it suitable for upland game, waterfowl, and general hunting applications where a single-shot is practical. The lightweight frame and walnut furniture are also at home in traditional hunting scenarios.

How do I load and unload the Henry single-shot?

The break-open action allows you to snap the barrel down from the receiver to access the chamber directly. Load a single shell, close the barrel, and you're ready to shoot. To unload, simply open the action and remove the shell.

What sighting options does it have?

The shotgun comes equipped with a brass bead front sight. This classic sight design is reliable for hunting and sport shooting at typical shotgun ranges and works well with both eyes open.
