Barrel Description:
24" Rifled Slug

The Henry Single Shot 12ga Shotgun is a straightforward, purpose-built break-action shotgun built for hunters and shooters who value simplicity and reliability over magazine capacity. With a 24-inch slug barrel, drilled and tapped receiver, and fiber optic sights, this 12-gauge is ready to work on deer, turkey, and upland game straight out of the box—or quickly fitted with a scope when you want to extend your effective range. Henry's no-frills approach keeps things light at 6.88 lbs and rugged enough for backcountry hunts or lodge work where a single well-placed shot is all you need.

Built on a proven break-action design with a rebounding hammer safety, this shotgun handles 3-inch 12-gauge shells and strips down to nothing if something goes wrong. The blued steel receiver and 24-inch barrel wear a classic look that won't draw attention in the field, while the American walnut stock and black rubber recoil pad absorb the 12-gauge's kick without fuss. Swivel studs are included for sling mounting, making it easy to carry hands-free through brush or up a ridge.

If you want to upgrade beyond the factory fiber optic sight picture, the Weaver 82 drilled and tapped receiver accepts standard scope mounts, letting you build a dedicated slug or buckshot gun. The 14-inch length of pull suits most adult hunters; the single-shot capacity means you'll be deliberate with every trigger press, which appeals to purists and budget-conscious shooters alike.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this shotgun accept a scope?

Yes. The receiver is drilled and tapped for Weaver 82 scope mounts, so you can add rings and a riflescope if you prefer magnification over the fiber optic sights. Many hunters use scopes on slug barrels to extend range and improve accuracy for deer hunting.

What types of shells does it shoot?

The 3-inch chamber accepts standard 2.75-inch and 3-inch 12-gauge slugs and buckshot loads. Single-shot design means one shell at a time.

Is this shotgun good for hunting?

Yes. The 24-inch slug barrel and fiber optic sights are well-suited for deer and turkey hunting, or any situation where you need a dependable slug gun. The light weight and simple operation make it practical for all-day field use.

What's the length of pull, and will it fit me?

The stock has a 14-inch length of pull, which is standard for most adult shooters. If you need adjustment beyond that, aftermarket stocks or shims can modify it.
