The Griffin Armament GP5 5.56 direct thread suppressor is a lightweight, general-purpose sound moderator built for shooters who want effective noise reduction without breaking the bank or weighing down their rifle. Constructed entirely from 17-4 stainless steel and finished in Cerakote, the GP5 delivers durability and corrosion resistance in a compact package that handles everything from subsonic target loads to full-power 5.56 NATO rounds. It's an excellent choice for precision rifle hunters, 3-gun competitors, and shooters simply looking to protect their hearing on the range.

What makes the GP5 stand out in the direct-thread suppressor market is Griffin's patented baffle technology, which keeps sound signature down to 31 dB attenuation while maintaining the lightweight, affordable approach the GP series is known for. The suppressor comes pre-drilled with a .125-inch hole, allowing you to pin it to a barrel and create a permanent assembly (one NFA stamp)—a smart move if you're building a short-barreled upper or want a no-fuss configuration. At just 12.5 ounces and 6.25 inches in overall length, it won't throw off your rifle's balance or get in the way of optics and rail systems.

The 1/2x28 TPI direct-thread attachment is the industry standard for 5.56 platforms, so installation is straightforward on most AR-15 uppers and modern 5.56 rifles. Wrench flats on both the front and rear housing give you options for disassembly and maintenance, and the suppressor is rated for full-auto fire, so it'll handle whatever you throw at it—from precision bolt-action builds to SBR upper receivers. If you're after genuine noise reduction without the weight penalty or the price tag of premium alternatives, the GP5 is a no-compromise option.
