The Great Lakes Firearms AR-10 in .243 Win is a semi-automatic rifle built on a proven platform and chambered for one of the most versatile medium-range cartridges available. With a 24-inch stainless steel barrel featuring a 1:8 twist rate and 5R rifling, this rifle is engineered for accuracy and reliability whether you're hunting or spending time at the range. The full-length picatinny rail handguard gives you complete freedom to mount optics, lights, and other accessories exactly where you need them.

Built around a 7075-T6 aluminum upper and lower receiver, the AR-10 .243 Win delivers the rigidity and durability serious shooters expect. The included muzzle brake helps manage recoil and rise, while the mil-spec trigger provides a predictable break you can work with. At 9.3 pounds unloaded with a 44-inch overall length, it's manageable in the field without sacrificing sight radius or velocity. The tungsten-colored Cerakote finish resists wear and corrosion, and the rifle ships with one 5-round magazine to get you started.

This is a purpose-built rifle for shooters who want the ergonomics and customization of the AR platform in a cartridge known for flat trajectories and excellent energy retention at distance. Whether you're setting up a hunting rig or a precision shooter, the Great Lakes AR-10 .243 Win gives you a solid foundation and the modularity to build it exactly how you want it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What optics and accessories can I mount on this rifle?

The full-length picatinny rail handguard accepts any standard picatinny-mounted optic, light, laser, or vertical grip. Since the rifle ships without iron sights, you have a clean rail to set up exactly as you need—whether that's a low-power variable scope for hunting or a precision optic for range work.

Is this rifle good for hunting?

Yes. The .243 Win is widely used for hunting deer, pronghorn, and similar-sized game out to moderate distances. The 24-inch barrel and 1:8 twist are optimized for this cartridge, and the semi-automatic action lets you follow up quickly if needed. The included muzzle brake helps manage recoil and sight picture recovery.

What's included in the box?

The rifle comes with one 5-round magazine and the muzzle brake already designed for installation. You'll need to source optics, ammunition, and any additional magazines separately.

Can I use an ambidextrous safety on this rifle?

The rifle ships with a standard right-hand safety. The AR-10 platform is modular, so aftermarket ambidextrous safety selectors are available if you want to upgrade later.
