The Daniel Defense DDM4 Hunter 6.8 SPC is a purpose-built AR-platform rifle designed for hunters who want precision, reliability, and modern ergonomics in one compact package. Built on a cold hammer-forged 18-inch barrel in 6.8 SPC, this rifle delivers the power and range hunters need while staying handy enough for practical field work. The 6.8 SPC chamber is built to SPEC II dimensions, allowing it to safely handle higher-pressure loads—important when you're counting on consistent performance in the field. Finished in Kryptek Highlander hydro-dipped camo, the Hunter cuts a striking profile that blends form and function.

The barrel is crowned with a knurled thread protector (5/8x24 TPI) that you can remove if you decide to add a suppressor or other muzzle device down the road. Up front, the MFR 15.0 free-floating handguard shields the mid-length gas system and gives you serious mounting flexibility—continuous top Picatinny rail plus M-LOK slots on the sides and bottom mean you can configure accessories to match your hunt. The trigger is a Geissele Super Semi-Automatic 2-stage unit, known for clean breaks and repeatability. Ambidextrous controls throughout (safety selector and GRIP-N-RIP charging handle) make the rifle equally friendly for left- and right-handed shooters, and the Daniel Defense buttstock and pistol grip are ergonomically shaped with soft-touch overmolding for a comfortable hold.

Construction is all business: 7075-T6 aluminum receivers are CNC-machined to mil-spec, the chrome-moly vanadium barrel is chrome-lined and heavy phosphate-coated, and the bolt carrier group follows M16 profile specs with a properly staked gas key. The pinned low-profile gas block is CNC-machined 4140 hardened steel. Weight comes in at 6.9 lbs, and the rifle adjusts from 33 3/8 to 37 inches overall length via the 6-position receiver extension. It ships in a Daniel Defense full-latch impact case and is made in the USA.
