The Christensen Arms Traverse .338 Lapua Magnum bolt-action rifle is built for hunters and long-range shooters who demand a backcountry-capable magnum without the weight penalty. This rifle combines traditional Monte-Carlo styling with modern carbon fiber engineering: a stainless steel barrel wrapped in Christensen's proprietary carbon fiber, a removable side-baffle brake, and a carbon fiber composite stock finished in black with gray webbing accents. The Traverse tips the scales at 7.3 pounds—genuinely light for a magnum—making it a serious contender for extended hunts where every ounce matters.

The action is where Christensen's precision engineering shows. You get a natural stainless finish, a Trigger Tech trigger, and a twin-lug spiral fluted bolt with full nitride treatment. The magazine holds 4 rounds (3 when loaded with .338 Lapua Magnum), and the hinged floor plate makes field reloading straightforward. The 0-MOA optic rail is top-mounted and ready for your glass; a bottom Picatinny rail gives you mounting flexibility for support gear. Internally, the barrel is hand-lapped, button-rifled, and free-floating—all hallmarks of Christensen's Sub-MOA Guarantee.

The stock deserves its own mention. The carbon fiber composite construction with stainless steel pillars and spot bedding keeps harmonics consistent, while the raised comb, full palm swell, and modified beavertail forearm deliver solid ergonomics without fuss. Four Picatinny slots on the underside let you add a bipod or other support as your role demands. This is a rifle that works hard in variable terrain and doesn't apologize for its magnum cartridge or its looks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Christensen Arms Traverse rifle best used for?

The Traverse .338 Lapua Magnum is designed for long-range hunting and precision shooting in backcountry settings. Its lightweight construction (7.3 lbs), carbon fiber barrel, and magnum caliber make it well-suited for hunting larger game at extended distances, while the compact proportions and side-baffle brake help manage recoil and noise in remote terrain.

Can I remove or adjust the brake on this rifle?

Yes. The stainless steel side-baffle brake is removable, so you can adjust your setup depending on whether you're hunting (quieter profile) or shooting at the range (brake on for recoil management and muzzle control).

What triggers does the Traverse use?

The Traverse comes equipped with a Trigger Tech trigger, which is known for delivering a clean, reliable break without unnecessary creep.

How much ammunition does the magazine hold?

The internal magazine holds 4 rounds total. When loaded with .338 Lapua Magnum ammunition, you load 3 rounds due to the length of the cartridge. The magazine features a hinged floor plate for field reloading.
