The Christensen Arms Mesa FFT 6.5 PRC bolt-action rifle brings together featherweight engineering and proven backcountry performance in a package built for mountain hunters who refuse to compromise on either firepower or portability. The FFT designation stands for the spotter-style carbon fiber stock that tips the scales starting at 5.5 pounds—light enough to make those long hikes count without wearing you down before you reach glassing country. Chambered in 6.5 PRC, this rifle delivers flat-shooting, wind-resistant ballistics that work across the terrain you're likely to hunt, from open ridges to timbered valleys.

Every component of the Mesa FFT reflects Christensen Arms' reputation for precision and durability. The 416R stainless steel barrel sports a featherweight contour, hand-lapped and button-rifled for consistency, with a seamless removable radial muzzle brake that threads at your choice of 1/2"-28 or 5/8"-24. The Tungsten Cerakote finish on both barrel and action resists corrosion through wet conditions and high-altitude exposure. The action itself is a skeletonized Standard Rem 700 pattern, which means it works with widely available mounting options while shaving unnecessary weight. Inside, you'll find a match-chamber bore, TriggerTech trigger, and a 4-round internal magazine (3 rounds for magnum cartridges) with a hinged floor plate for fast reloads in the field.

The FFT carbon fiber stock isn't just light—it's purpose-built for hunting. Sporter-style ergonomics, stainless steel bedding pillars, and spot bedding ensure consistent barrel clearance and repeatable accuracy. Christensen Arms backs every Mesa FFT with their Sub-MOA Guarantee, so you're buying not just a rifle, but confidence in its performance on animals that matter. The black stock with gray accents pairs clean aesthetics with practical Cerakote durability on the action, creating a rig that looks as professional as it performs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the weight advantage of the Mesa FFT for backcountry hunting?

The carbon fiber stock and featherweight barrel contour bring the rifle to a starting weight of 5.5 pounds, making it one of the lighter options in its class. That matters on long mountain approaches where every ounce counts by the end of the day.

Is the muzzle brake removable, and what threading options are available?

Yes, the seamless radial muzzle brake is removable. It comes threaded at either 1/2"-28 or 5/8"-24—confirm your preference when ordering, as this determines compatibility with aftermarket suppressors or brakes.

What optics mounting system does the Mesa FFT use?

The action is Standard Rem 700 optics base compatible, which means it accepts the vast majority of modern scope rings and mounts designed for that platform. This gives you plenty of proven options at virtually any price point.

Does Christensen Arms warranty this rifle?

Yes. The Mesa FFT is backed by the Christensen Arms Sub-MOA Guarantee, reflecting the company's confidence in the accuracy and reliability of their rifles.
