The Browning X-Bolt 2 is a modern long-range hunting rifle built for shooters who demand accuracy without compromise. This 6.8 WSM model pairs a 26-inch fluted sporter-weight barrel with Browning's redesigned X-Bolt 2 action—the result is a rifle that balances precision performance with practical field weight. The Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish and OVIX camouflage stock make it equally at home in high alpine basins or dense timber, while the suppressor-ready barrel design gives you flexibility for future setup changes.

The Vari-Tech composite stock is where Browning's innovation shows. Adjustable length of pull, comb height, and grip angle mean you can dial in a personalized fit—crucial for consistent shooting form and comfort during long days afield. The interchangeable sporter and vertical grips adapt to your hand size and shooting style, while black overmolded surfaces provide secure grip in wet conditions. A 1-1/4-inch Inflex Recoil Pad absorbs the WSM's punch so you stay focused downrange.

Under the hood, the X-Bolt 2 receiver features new bolt guidance surfaces for smooth, reliable cycling. The patent-pending adjustable DLX trigger is factory-set to hunting weights, and the 60-degree bolt lift clears most optics without awkward head repositioning. A Bolt Unlock Button paired with the top-tang safety adds a safety layer during chamber checks and unloading. The barrel is free-floated and bedded at the recoil lug for inherent accuracy, while the new spiral-fluted bolt with extended handle and redesigned knob feels right in your hand. An aluminum Picatinny rail accommodates a bipod for precision work, and Browning's X-Lock Scope Mounting System uses four screws per base for rock-solid optic attachment.

If you're building a long-range hunting rig and want a rifle that's genuinely adjustable, proven reliable, and dressed in practical camouflage, the X-Bolt 2 6.8 WSM delivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle suppressor-ready?

Yes. The belled muzzle design allows for common suppressor-ready threading to be added to the sporter-weight barrel, making it simple to set up with a suppressor down the road.

Can I adjust the stock for fit?

Absolutely. The Vari-Tech composite stock offers adjustable length of pull, comb height, and grip angle, plus interchangeable sporter and vertical grips, so you can personalize the fit to your body and shooting style.

What finishes does this rifle have?

The X-Bolt 2 is finished in Smoked Bronze Cerakote on the barrel and action, paired with OVIX camouflage on the composite stock.

Does the bolt lift clear typical optics?

Yes. The 60-degree bolt lift is designed to cycle quickly and clear large optics without forcing your head off the stock during normal shooting.
