The Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed in .308 Winchester combines tactical performance with field-ready ergonomics, making it a serious choice for hunters and precision shooters who demand accuracy without compromise. Built on Browning's redesigned receiver and featuring a fluted sporter-weight barrel with radial muzzle brake, this bolt-action rifle balances inherent accuracy with practical handling weight. The 22-inch barrel and 60-degree bolt lift keep you moving fast in the field or on the range, while the Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish and OVIX camo stock make it equally at home in open country or dense cover.

What sets the X-Bolt 2 Speed apart is its commitment to fit and control. The Vari-Tech composite stock adjusts for length of pull, comb height, and grip angle—meaning the rifle actually conforms to you, not the other way around. Interchangeable sporter and vertical grips let you optimize handling for different shooting positions, and the black overmolded surfaces keep your grip secure in wet or cold conditions. The 1-1/4 inch Inflex Recoil Pad absorbs punishment so you can focus on your shot.

Under the hood, the engineering is thorough. A spiral-fluted bolt with an ergonomic new knob pairs with a new bolt guidance surface for smooth, reliable feeding. The patent-pending adjustable DLX trigger is tuned to hunting weights from the factory. The action is bedded at the recoil lug and screws with a free-floated barrel for inherent accuracy, and the X-Lock Scope Mounting System uses four screws per base to lock your optic solid to the receiver. A bolt unlock button working with the top-tang safety adds a safety layer when checking or unloading the chamber. This is a modern hunting rifle built for hunters who expect precision, reliability, and honest ergonomics.

Frequently Asked Questions

What optics will mount to the X-Bolt 2 Speed?

The rifle uses Browning's X-Lock Scope Mounting System, which accepts standard Picatinny rail scope bases. Four screws per base ensure rock-solid zero retention. Since the rifle ships with no optic, you're free to pair it with the glass that suits your hunting or range goals.

Can I adjust the stock for different shooting positions?

Yes. The Vari-Tech composite stock adjusts for length of pull, comb height, and grip angle. It also features interchangeable sporter and vertical grips, so you can optimize handling and cheek weld whether you're shooting from a bench, in the field, or from a rest.

Is the X-Bolt 2 Speed suitable for long-range hunting or target shooting?

The combination of a free-floated barrel, bedded action, adjustable DLX trigger, and inherent stability from the redesigned receiver makes this rifle a capable platform for both hunting and precision shooting. The 22-inch fluted barrel balances velocity and manageability without adding unnecessary weight.

How does the radial muzzle brake affect recoil?

The radial brake is designed to help manage recoil impulse, and when paired with the 1-1/4 inch Inflex Recoil Pad, it works to reduce felt recoil so you can manage follow-up shots and stay on target longer during a range session.
