The Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed SPR in .308 Winchester is a modern, suppressor-ready hunting rifle built for shooters who want accuracy without the weight penalty. This rifle combines a shorter, fluted sporter-weight barrel with Browning's refined X-Bolt 2 platform, delivering the handling speed of a lightweight hunter and the precision needed for mid-range to long-range work. The belled muzzle is threaded and ready for suppressor installation, making it ideal for hunters seeking hearing protection or noise reduction on public lands.
The stock tells much of the story here. Browning's new Vari-Tech composite design arrives in their OVIX camouflage pattern and offers genuine field-relevant adjustability: length of pull, comb height, and grip angle all tune to your frame and shooting style. Swappable sporter and vertical grip inserts let you adapt the rifle to your preference, while aggressive black overmolded surfaces provide secure purchase in wet or gloved conditions. The Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish on the receiver and barrel resists corrosion better than traditional bluing, a practical upgrade for harsh hunting conditions.
The action itself has been redesigned with enhanced bolt guidance surfaces for smooth, reliable cycling. A short 60-degree bolt lift means you'll clear modern optics without awkward head movement—crucial during a follow-up shot. The spiral-fluted bolt and new ergonomic knob speed up handling, while the patent-pending adjustable DLX trigger arrives factory-set to hunting weights. Browning has also integrated additional safety features: a top-tang safety within easy reach and a bolt unlock button that works with the safety mechanism to prevent accidental discharge during unloading.
Accuracy is secured through proper fundamentals: the action is bedded at the recoil lug and screws, with a free-floating barrel that isolates vibration. Scope mounting is handled by the X-Lock system, which uses four screws per base for rock-solid attachment to the receiver. The new Inflex recoil pad rounds out the package, absorbing felt recoil to keep you steady for follow-up shots.

What makes the X-Bolt 2 different from the original X-Bolt?
The X-Bolt 2 includes a redesigned receiver with enhanced bolt guidance surfaces for smoother operation, a new spiral-fluted bolt with an ergonomic knob shape, and the patent-pending adjustable DLX trigger. The new Vari-Tech stock also offers greater adjustability than previous versions.
Is the stock really adjustable, and how does it work?
Yes. The Vari-Tech composite stock adjusts for length of pull, comb height, and grip angle so you can tailor the fit to your body and shooting style. It also includes swappable sporter and vertical grip inserts, plus aggressive overmolded gripping surfaces for use in wet conditions.
