The Browning Maxus II is a gas-operated autoloading shotgun built for serious hunters and clay shooters who demand reliability and adjustability in the field. This 12-gauge, 3-inch magnum with a 28-inch barrel pairs Turkish walnut furniture and a refined receiver design with genuine functional engineering—no fluff, just the kind of details that matter after the shot breaks. The shim-adjustable stock lets you dial in length of pull, cast, and drop to fit your frame, which means better accuracy and less fatigue over a long day hunting or at the range.
What sets the Maxus II apart is its straightforward design philosophy. The gas system cycles reliably across a wide range of loads without excessive cleaning demands. Back-bored barrel and chrome chamber reduce felt recoil and improve pattern density. You get three Invector-Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) to match whatever game or clays discipline you're shooting, and the included hard case keeps the gun protected in transit. The fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead make target acquisition fast in low light—exactly what you need when birds are working at dawn or dusk.
The receiver is dressed in a classic black finish with game scene engraving and gold accents, striking that balance between field-ready and tasteful. The oversize bolt handle and bolt release make operation smooth even with gloves or cold hands. Whether you're hunting waterfowl, upland birds, or breaking clay targets, the Maxus II delivers the fit, function, and handling you'd expect from a gun wearing the Browning name.

Frequently Asked Questions
What choke tubes come with the Maxus II, and are they interchangeable?
The shotgun ships with three Invector-Plus choke tubes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. These screw directly into the barrel and are fully interchangeable, so you can swap them to match your hunting situation or clay target discipline.
Can I adjust the stock for a custom fit?
Yes. The walnut stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop. This lets you dial in the gun to your specific measurements, which improves comfort and accuracy whether you're in a blind or at the trap range.
What's included in the box?
The Maxus II comes with three choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder), an ABS hard carrying case, and the shotgun itself. A TurnKey Magazine Plug and screw-on magazine cap are also included for safe storage and transport.
Is the Maxus II suitable for both hunting and clay shooting?
Absolutely. The combination of adjustable fit, multiple choke options, and reliable gas operation makes it well-suited to waterfowl, upland hunting, and sporting clays, depending on how you set it up.
