The Browning Maxus II Hunter is a versatile, gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun built for hunters and sport shooters who want reliability without sacrificing aesthetics. This 12-gauge features a 28-inch barrel and comes fitted with a beautiful gloss-finish AAA-grade maple stock that stands out in the field or at the trap range. Unlike utilitarian black synthetic designs, the Maxus II Hunter's wood furniture gives it a classic appeal while maintaining the modern ergonomics and durability serious shooters demand.

The action is where Browning's engineering shines. The Maxus II uses proven gas-operating principles that cycle reliably across a wide range of ammunition and recoil loads—critical for both hunting applications where you might switch from light target loads to heavier magnums, and for sport shooting where consistency matters. The black anodized receiver contrasts nicely with the gloss metalwork, giving the gun a refined two-tone appearance that ages well in the field.

Fit and function are handled with practical attention to detail. The maple stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop, so you can dial in the gun to your frame and shooting style rather than adapting yourself to the gun. The Inflex II recoil pad soaks up punishment on both ends—yours and the gun's. Sighting is straightforward: a fiber-optic front sight paired with an ivory mid-bead make target acquisition fast in variable light. Three Invector-Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) ship with the gun, covering most hunting and clay scenarios out of the box.

This is a solid choice if you're hunting waterfowl, upland game, or running sporting clays and want a semi-auto that handles modern ammunition reliably while looking good enough to pass down.
