The Browning BT-99 Micro with adjustable buttplate and comb is a purpose-built 12-gauge break-open shotgun engineered for trap shooters who need a compact, responsive platform with genuine stock adjustability. This single-barrel design combines classic break-action simplicity with modern ergonomics, making it ideal for dedicated trap shooters, youth competitors, and hunters who value precision and minimal recoil management over rapid follow-up shots.
What sets the Micro apart is the factory-installed adjustable buttplate and comb system—features rarely found standard on break-action shotguns at this price tier. These allow you to dial in drop at comb and heel to match your specific shooting geometry, rather than forcing your face and shoulder into a fixed stock. The 32-inch barrel and 48.5-inch overall length deliver the sight radius trap shooters expect, while the adjustable components let smaller-framed and youth shooters dial the gun to fit rather than outgrow it.
Build quality reflects Browning's reputation: Grade I black walnut furniture wears a clean satin finish, and the barrel sports matching satin blue. The Invector-Plus flush choke system accepts modern, interchangeable constriction tubes, and the gun ships with a Full choke for trap. A 13¾-inch length of pull and brown trap recoil pad round out a package purpose-designed for the clay target circuit—though the Micro's compact profile and mild recoil also make it approachable for upland and wingshooting situations where a dedicated trap gun isn't overkill.
At 7 lbs 13 oz, the BT-99 Micro handles cleanly without excessive muzzle heaviness. The 11/32-inch rib supports a solid sight picture, topped with an ivory bead front sight for quick target acquisition in bright outdoor conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the BT-99 Micro good for youth and smaller shooters?
Yes. The Micro designation signals a scaled platform, and the 13¾-inch length of pull accommodates smaller frames. The adjustable buttplate and comb let you fine-tune fit as the shooter grows, maximizing value over time.
Can I use different chokes with this gun?
Yes. The Invector-Plus flush choke system accepts interchangeable choke tubes. The gun includes a Full choke; you can purchase additional constriction tubes separately to match different shooting scenarios.
What is the adjustable comb for?
The adjustable comb and buttplate let you customize drop and height to match your individual shooting geometry. This means better cheek weld, more consistent sight picture, and less need to force your face into a fixed stock that may not fit your build.
Is this shotgun suitable for hunting?
The BT-99 Micro is purpose-built for trap, but its compact size, single-barrel design, and 12-gauge chambering can work for upland and wingshooting situations. However, its longer sight radius and trap-optimized geometry favor clay target shooting over fast-moving birds.
