The Browning BT-99 Micro 12-gauge break-action shotgun is a single-barrel trap gun built for shooters who need a shorter length of pull without sacrificing performance. This is a purpose-built competition and clay bird platform—not a hunting gun—engineered in Browning's time-tested break-open action design. The Micro frame and 13.75-inch length of pull make it an excellent fit for younger competitors, smaller-framed adults, or anyone who prefers a more compact shotgun. If you're running trap league, 5-stand, or skeet matches and want a dedicated single-barrel that doesn't require custom fitting, the BT-99 Micro delivers.

The gun wears a 30-inch barrel with satin blued steel finish and sits atop a satin black walnut stock—traditional, professional, and built to last. The break-open action uses an extractor only (not an ejector), which keeps things simple and is standard for trap guns where you're typically shooting one shell at a time in a controlled environment. Sighting is handled by a classic ivory bead front sight, the standard for clay gun work. The Invector-Plus flush choke system comes threaded and includes a Full choke for the distances typical of trap competition.

At 7 pounds 12 ounces with a 46.5-inch overall length, the BT-99 Micro balances pointability with stability in the shooting box. The 2.75-inch chamber handles standard trap loads without overkill, keeping recoil reasonable and barrel life long. This is a shotgun for competitors who have refined their form and want a reliable, no-frills single-barrel platform that has proven itself at ranges and clubs across the country.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the BT-99 Micro designed for hunting or clay shooting?

The BT-99 Micro is purpose-built for clay bird competition—trap, skeet, and 5-stand—not hunting. It's a single-barrel platform optimized for the shooting box and range work.

What length of pull makes this shotgun "Micro," and who is it for?

The 13.75-inch length of pull is shorter than standard trap guns and makes the Micro ideal for younger competitors, shooters with a smaller frame, or adults who simply prefer a more compact fit without custom gunsmithing.

Can I use different chokes, and what comes in the box?

Yes. The shotgun features the Invector-Plus flush choke system, allowing you to swap chokes to match your shooting discipline. A Full choke is included.

What ammunition does the BT-99 Micro chamber?

The gun is chambered in 2.75-inch 12-gauge, which is the standard for trap and most clay shooting. It does not accept 3-inch shells.
