The Browning BAR Mark III in 30-06 is a semi-automatic hunting rifle built on nearly a century of autoloading design legacy. This third-generation BAR combines the speed and reliability that made the original a standard-setter with modern refinements: a precision alloy receiver, hammer-forged barrel, and a refined oil finish on Turkish walnut furniture. If you want the accuracy and quick follow-up shots of a semi-auto without compromise, the BAR Mark III delivers in one of hunting's most versatile cartridges.
The 30-06 Springfield is the working rifle of generations—flat-shooting enough for deer and elk at distance, proven enough that you'll find ammo everywhere. The 4-round detachable magazine keeps reloads fast in the field, and the polished blued finish looks as good as it shoots. At 7 lb 2 oz and 43.375 inches overall, it balances pointability with the muscle to deliver 30-06 performance downrange. The 1:10 twist with a 22-inch barrel is optimized for the widest range of factory loads.
This isn't a rifle trying to look tactical or trendy. The BAR Mark III respects its heritage while performing like a contemporary hunting tool. Whether you're working timber for whitetail or glassing open country for bigger game, a semi-automatic 30-06 cuts your sight time between shots—a genuine edge when it matters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What game can I hunt with a 30-06 BAR Mark III?
The 30-06 Springfield is effective on whitetail, mule deer, elk, and other medium to large North American game. Its flat trajectory and energy retention make it suitable for both closer timber hunting and longer-range open-country work.
Is the magazine included, and can I buy spares?
The rifle ships with one 4-round detachable box magazine. Extra magazines are widely available from Browning and aftermarket sources, making it easy to keep spares in your pack for extended field days.
How does the semi-automatic action perform compared to bolt-action rifles?
The semi-automatic platform allows faster follow-up shots without breaking your sight picture or manipulating a bolt. This speed advantage is genuine in the field, especially on moving targets or in situations where a quick second shot matters. You trade nothing in accuracy; the BAR Mark III is built for both precision and repeat fire.
What kind of maintenance does the BAR Mark III require?
As a semi-automatic rifle, the BAR requires regular cleaning of the gas system and bolt to maintain reliability. Browning provides detailed care instructions with the rifle; standard rifle cleaning supplies and tools are all you need for routine upkeep.
