The Browning A5 Wicked Wing 16 ga shotgun is a semi-automatic built for hunters who want genuine lightweight performance without sacrificing power. The 16-gauge—sometimes called "the gentleman's gauge"—strikes a sweet spot between a 20 and 12 gauge: it patterns superbly, carries less fatigue in the field, and delivers shot payload you won't find in lighter gauges. This A5 is built on Browning's proven short-recoil Kinematic Drive System, a design the company perfected decades ago and continues to refine. That reliability backs the gun with a 5-year/100,000-round guarantee.
The 26-inch barrel and compact humpback receiver keep the A5 Sweet Sixteen nimble for jump-shooting creeks, navigating timber, or working flooded timber. The smaller receiver also lengthens your sighting plane—a classic A5 advantage. Mossy Oak Bottomland camo on the composite stock blends the gun into real hunting cover, while Burnt Bronze Cerakote on the receiver and barrel resists corrosion and weather. Chrome plating in the bore and chamber adds durability. Nickel-Teflon coating on the bolt and shell carrier keeps the action slick and functioning even under tough conditions and temperature swings.
Handling improvements are built in: an oversized bolt release and bolt handle make the gun easier to operate when cold or wearing gloves. The stock includes shim adjustment for length of pull, cast, and drop—plus 1/4 and 1/2 spacers for fine-tuning fit. You get three extended Invector-DS Goose Band choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) in the box. Fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead make target acquisition fast, even in low light. Whether you're hunting over decoys, working a marsh, or pursuing upland birds, the A5 Wicked Wing delivers the reliability and balance serious 16-gauge hunters expect.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the 16-gauge the right choice for hunting?
The 16-gauge offers a unique balance: it's lighter than a 12-gauge but packs shot payload closer to one, and it patterns more effectively than a 20. Hunters prize it for reduced recoil and fatigue during long days afield, making it ideal for waterfowl, upland birds, and other hunting that demands extended carry and quick shooting.
Is this A5 reliable in cold and wet conditions?
Yes. The Kinematic Drive System is designed to function across extreme temperature swings, moisture, and grime. The nickel-Teflon coating on the bolt and shell carrier provides protection and lubricity; the chrome-plated bore and chamber resist corrosion. Browning backs the gun with a 5-year/100,000-round guarantee to prove it works in any condition.
What choke tubes come with this shotgun?
Three extended Invector-DS Goose Band choke tubes are included: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. The extended design aids extraction and allows you to tune your pattern for different hunting scenarios.
Can I adjust the stock for my fit?
Yes. The stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop. The gun includes 1/4 and 1/2 stock spacers so you can customize the fit to your frame and shooting style.
