The Browning A5 Wicked Wing 16 ga semi-auto shotgun is a refined, dependable autoloader built for hunters who value reduced recoil, lighter carry weight, and genuine field performance. Built on Browning's proven short-recoil Kinematic Drive system—the same concept that made the original Auto-5 legendary—the A5 Sweet Sixteen chambers the "gentleman's gauge," offering a sweet spot between 20-gauge ergonomics and 12-gauge knock-down power. The 28" barrel and compact humpback receiver keep this 16 gauge nimble in brush and woods while the chrome-plated bore and nickel Teflon-coated bolt and carrier stand up to harsh conditions and frequent use. Backed by a 5-year/100,000-round guarantee, this is a workhorse that won't let you down.
The Wicked Wing edition combines proven mechanics with field-proven styling: Mossy Oak Bottomland camo composite stock, Burnt Bronze Cerakote receiver and barrel, and tactical upgrades like an oversized bolt release for gloved operation. Three extended Invector-DS Goose Band choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) ship with the gun, giving you fast pattern adjustment for ducks, geese, or upland game. Fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead keep your sight picture crisp in low light. The shim-adjustable stock lets you dial in length of pull, cast, and drop—and two spacers are included so you can optimize fit without the gunsmith.
If you hunt waterfowl or upland birds and want a lightweight, gas-free autoloader that handles like a dream and runs through anything, the A5 Wicked Wing delivers. The short-recoil action cycles a wide range of loads cleanly, directing exhaust out the barrel away from your face and action—a real advantage during long days in the blind. Whether you're a 16-gauge devotee or new to the gauge, this Browning earns its reputation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the A5 Wicked Wing 16 ga suitable for waterfowl hunting?
Yes. The gun ships with three extended Invector-DS Goose Band choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) designed for waterfowl applications. The Mossy Oak Bottomland camo finish and reliable short-recoil action are well-suited to duck and goose hunting.
What warranty does Browning provide on the A5 Wicked Wing?
Browning backs the A5 with a 5-year/100,000-round guarantee, ensuring reliable performance under demanding field conditions.
Can I adjust the stock fit on this shotgun?
Yes. The stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop. Two spacers (1/4" and 1/2") are included so you can customize fit without a gunsmith.
Why choose a 16 gauge over a 12 or 20 gauge?
The 16 gauge occupies a unique middle ground: it weighs closer to a 20-gauge shotgun but delivers a shot payload approaching 12-gauge power, with patterning that can rival both. The A5 Sweet Sixteen's compact, lighter humpback receiver amplifies this advantage, making it an excellent choice for hunters who value reduced recoil and carry weight without sacrificing downrange performance.
