The Browning A5 16 gauge semi-auto shotgun is built for hunters who appreciate a firearm that balances handling, power, and pointability in one nimble package. This 26" model in Mossy Oak Bottomland camo carries on the legacy of Browning's legendary Auto-5 line with a modern touch: a smaller, lighter humpback alloy receiver that reduces overall weight without sacrificing reliability or performance. The short-recoil Kinematic Drive system is proven enough that Browning backs it with a 5-year/100,000-round guarantee—a confidence statement from a company that pioneered autoloading shotgun design.
Built tough for the field, the A5 16 gauge features a composite stock in Bottomland camo with close-radius pistol grip and textured gripping surfaces that hold steady in wet conditions. The stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop, and includes 1/4" and 1/2" spacers for customization. Chrome in the chamber and bore resists wear and corrosion, while nickel-Teflon coating on the bolt and carrier reduces friction and adds protection. The oversize bolt release and handle are easier to manipulate under field stress or in harsh weather.
The 16 gauge itself deserves respect: it delivers a shot payload closer to a 12 gauge in a gun that handles like a 20. The A5's humpback receiver profile lengthens the sighting plane for natural point-and-shoot advantages, while Total Barrel Dynamics and the Invector-DS choke system extract maximum pattern performance. Three flush choke tubes—Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder—come installed, and a fiber-optic front sight paired with an ivory mid-bead aid target acquisition in low light.
Whether you're working a duck marsh, a field of upland birds, or dueling clays, the A5 16 gauge moves like few shotguns do. It's the thinking hunter's semi-auto.

Frequently Asked Questions
What choke tubes come with the A5 16 gauge?
Three flush Invector-DS choke tubes are included: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. The Invector-DS system allows you to swap tubes to adjust pattern and performance for different hunting scenarios or clay target shooting.
Is the A5 16 gauge suitable for hunting upland birds, waterfowl, and clay sports?
Yes. The 16 gauge delivers a shot payload comparable to a 12 gauge in a lighter, more nimble platform. The model is designed for hunting, sporting clays, and turkey applications, and the adjustable choke tubes support switching between hunting and clay target work.
Can I adjust the stock for fit?
Yes. The composite stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop. Shims allow you to customize fit, and 1/4" and 1/2" stock spacers are included for length-of-pull adjustment.
What makes the Kinematic Drive system reliable?
The Kinematic Drive harnesses short-recoil energy to cycle the action cleanly and consistently across a wide variety of loads and extreme weather conditions. Browning backs this design with a 5-year/100,000-round guarantee.
