The Browning A5 Lightning 12Ga 3 26 Ds is a modern autoloading shotgun built on decades of A5 reliability, reimagined with the classic Lightning-style rounded grip stock that feels at home in the field or on the clay course. This is a 12-gauge semi-automatic designed for hunters and sport shooters who want a gun that swings fast, handles recoil well, and delivers consistent performance whether you're after upland game, waterfowl, or breaking targets on a Saturday.
The A5 Lightning starts with a solid Turkish walnut stock finished in gloss, checkered with a traditional 18 lines-per-inch pattern for a premium, sure grip. The receiver wears a gloss black anodized finish that balances looks with durability. The barrel is 26 inches, a versatile length that works across hunting scenarios and clay sports. You get three Invector-DS choke tubes in the box, so you can dial in the pattern you need without buying extras. A fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead keep you on target in changing light.
Under the hood, the A5 uses Browning's Kinematic Drive system to manage felt recoil, paired with an Inflex II recoil pad that absorbs punishment without punishing your shoulder. The barrel is back-bored with a lengthened forcing cone (Vector Pro geometry) to reduce pellet deformation and improve shot consistency. Speed Load Plus lets you reload faster in the heat of the moment. The action is protected with a nickel-teflon coating and engineered for steel shot performance, so you can trust it in wet, harsh conditions.
The Lightning stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop, so you can dial in fit without a gunsmith. Browning backs the A5 with a 100,000-round or five-year guarantee—a confidence statement from a company that's been making shotguns since 1878.
