The Browning A5 is a modern recoil-operated semi-automatic shotgun built on the legacy of one of the most iconic autoloaders ever made. This 12-gauge features a distinctive humpback aluminum alloy receiver—a nod to John M. Browning's original design—paired with contemporary engineering that delivers reliability, soft recoil, and fast cycling. The A5 Camo comes dressed in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat composite stock, making it equally at home in the marsh, timber, or field. With a 26-inch barrel and 3.5-inch chamber, it handles the full range of shotgun loads hunters rely on.
What sets the A5 apart is its Kinematic Drive System, a recoil-operated mechanism engineered to cycle reliably across a wide variety of loads without the fuss of gas ports or complex maintenance. The composite stock features a close-radius pistol grip and is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop—so you can dial in your fit. Up front, you'll find a fiber-optic sight for quick target acquisition in low light. The barrel wears a flat ventilated rib and comes threaded for Invector-DS choke tubes, giving you flexibility to tune the pattern for your hunting or sport-shooting needs.
The A5 handles recoil well thanks to Inflex Technology in the recoil pad and the inherent balance of the design. It ships in an ABS case and includes one full stock spacer and one half stock spacer (with lengthened screws) to dial in your length of pull. This is a shotgun built for hunters and shooters who want proven reliability, clean aesthetics, and the confidence that comes from American gunmaking heritage brought into the modern era.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the A5 and other semi-auto shotguns?
The Browning A5 uses a recoil-operated Kinematic Drive System rather than a gas-operated design. This means fewer moving parts to maintain and a mechanism that cycles reliably across a wide range of shot loads without adjustment or tuning. The humpback receiver profile is lightweight and balanced, contributing to reduced felt recoil and faster target acquisition.
Can I adjust the stock for my fit?
Yes. The composite stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop. The A5 ships with one full stock spacer and one half stock spacer (complete with lengthened screws) to help you dial in your specific fit and shooting position.
What chokes come with the A5?
The A5 is threaded for Invector-DS choke tubes. The product record does not specify which chokes are included in the box, so contact us or refer to the manual for the exact tubes that ship with your shotgun.
Is the A5 suitable for waterfowl and upland hunting?
The A5 Camo in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat is designed for hunting applications and handles the 3.5-inch chamber, making it capable of shooting a wide range of loads. The fiber-optic front sight, composite stock, and reliable Kinematic Drive make it a practical choice for both waterfowl and upland scenarios where you need a dependable autoloader.
