The Browning A5 is a modern recoil-operated semi-automatic shotgun built on the legacy of John Browning's original Auto-5 design. This 12-gauge, 3½-inch magnum shotgun features the distinctive humpback receiver profile—a nod to the classic—but everything underneath is contemporary engineering. With a 28-inch barrel and Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat camo finish, the A5 is purpose-built for waterfowl and upland hunters who demand reliability, soft recoil, and fast cycling through a full range of loads.
At the heart of the A5 is Browning's Kinematic Drive System, a recoil-operated action designed for speed, balance, and minimal felt recoil. The lightweight aluminum alloy receiver and barrel profile keep the gun nimble in the field, while the flat ventilated rib aids sight picture and cooling. The composite stock is adjustable via shims for length of pull, cast, and drop, so you can dial in the fit for your frame and shooting style. A fiber-optic front sight aids target acquisition in low light, and the Inflex Technology recoil pad—paired with the stock adjustability—tames recoil impulse without bulk.
The A5 ships with Invector-DS choke tubes for versatility across shot sizes and distances, plus a Vector Pro lengthened forcing cone that's kind to both shot and shooter. Everything packs into a hard ABS case. This is a shotgun built to cycle wet, muddy, and harsh conditions without hesitation—the kind of tool that earns trust after thousands of rounds in the marsh.
