The Browning 1911-22 Black Label is a compact 1911-style autoloader built around .22 LR—a nimble, low-recoil option for shooters who want classic 1911 ergonomics without the bite of centerfire rounds. The aluminum-alloy slide wears a durable Cerakote finish, while the composite frame houses a machined 7075 aluminum sub-frame for rigidity without excess weight. At 3.63 inches, the barrel is short enough for easy carry and handling, making this a natural choice for backyard plinking, small-game hunting, or anyone training on a 1911 platform who wants to shoot more and spend less.
The gun handles like a full-size 1911 despite its compact footprint. You get an extended ambidextrous manual thumb safety, extended slide release, and a beavertail grip safety—all the controls are where your hands expect them. The commander-style hammer and steel 3-dot sights keep you on target, while the black stippled laminated wood grips with Buckmark branding deliver both grip and character. It ships with one 10-round magazine and a pistol rug for protection and transport.
Whether you're breaking in a new shooter, honing your .22 accuracy, or just looking for a fun, practical rimfire that respects 1911 tradition, the 1911-22 Black Label delivers proven design in a package that's easy to shoot, maintain, and afford to run.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Browning 1911-22 a true 1911 design?
Yes—it follows the classic 1911 layout and controls, including the ambidextrous thumb safety, slide release, beavertail grip safety, and commander-style hammer. The main difference is caliber (.22 LR instead of centerfire) and a composite frame with aluminum sub-frame rather than all-steel construction, which keeps it light and affordable to shoot.
What's included in the box?
You get the pistol, one 10-round magazine, and a pistol rug for transport and storage.
Who is this pistol a good fit for?
The 1911-22 Black Label is ideal for shooters new to 1911s who want to train and practice without the recoil and cost of centerfire rounds, as well as anyone looking for a fun, low-recoil rimfire with authentic 1911 handling. It's also suitable for small-game hunting and backyard shooting where .22 LR energy is appropriate.
Why choose .22 LR in a compact 1911?
Low recoil and ammunition cost make .22 LR excellent for building and maintaining shooting skills, introducing new shooters to proper 1911 technique, and enjoying high round counts without fatigue or expense. The compact size adds portability and ease of handling for those purposes.
