The Browning 1911-22 is a rimfire-caliber 1911 built for shooters who want the classic 1911 platform without the full recoil—ideal for training, plinking, or introducing new shooters to the iconic design. Chambered in .22 LR with a 3.63-inch barrel, this lightweight alloy-frame pistol delivers the handling and ergonomics of a traditional 1911 in a more manageable package. The 10-round magazine keeps you shooting longer between reloads, and the fixed sights get you on target right away without the complexity of adjustable optics.

Built with a high-strength lightweight alloy frame and stainless steel barrel, the 1911-22 pairs durability with reduced weight. The machined alloy slide sports a matte gray anodized finish that resists corrosion while keeping the gun relatively compact and easy to carry. Walnut grips with a diamond pattern give it classic 1911 aesthetics and a solid grip purchase, whether you're at the range or in the field.

Whether you're a 1911 enthusiast wanting a gentle-recoiling trainer, a competitive shooter honing fundamentals, or someone building confidence with centerfire pistols later on, the Browning 1911-22 delivers proven 1911 ergonomics in rimfire. It comes ready to go: one magazine and a hard pistol case are included, so you have everything needed to get started straight out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Browning 1911-22 good for training on a full-size 1911?

Yes. It shares the same basic 1911 platform, controls, and ergonomics, making it an excellent low-recoil trainer for shooters who plan to move to centerfire 1911s. The .22 LR ammunition is also significantly less expensive, so you can practice more affordably.

What's included with the 1911-22?

The pistol comes with one 10-round magazine and a hard pistol case for storage and transport.

What kind of ammunition does it use?

The Browning 1911-22 is chambered in .22 LR rimfire. This is one of the most affordable and widely available cartridges, making it ideal for high-volume shooting and practice.

Are the grips removable?

The product includes walnut grips with a diamond pattern. Standard 1911 grip panels are generally user-replaceable, allowing you to customize the look or feel to your preference, though specific grip compatibility should be verified before purchasing aftermarket grips.
