The Bond Arms Blackjack .45 LC / .410 GA derringer pistol is a dual-caliber compact sidearm built around stainless steel construction and designed for shooters who need reliable backup or deep concealment carry. This black-finished model pairs the versatility of firing both .45 Colt and .410 shotshell ammunition through interchangeable barrels with practical aesthetics—extended black ash grips and a silver spade accent above the hinge give it personality without compromising function. At 5.5 inches in overall length and 22 ounces, the Blackjack rides light in a pocket or waistband while remaining shootable and intuitive.
Double-barrel derringers aren't for everyone, but they occupy a unique niche: pistol shooters who prioritize simplicity and absolute reliability over capacity. The Blackjack's stainless steel frame and barrels resist corrosion, and Bond Arms has engineered proven mechanical features—a patented rebounding hammer, retracting firing pins, and an automatic spent casing extractor—that make the gun practical for sustained shooting and cleaning. The cross-bolt safety sits within the trigger guard, offering positive engagement without adding bulk or complexity. Fixed front blade sights are rudimentary but adequate for the close ranges where a derringer is intended to work.
One of the Blackjack's biggest assets is compatibility with Bond Arms' aftermarket barrel lineup. You aren't limited to .45/.410; swap in a barrel in .38 Special, 9mm, .357 Magnum, or other calibers without buying a second gun. For hunters, the .410 barrel option opens shotshell rounds for small game. For defensive shooters, the flexibility to test different calibers from a single platform is valuable. The extended grip ensures a secure purchase even with larger hands, and the overall ergonomics make follow-up shots faster than many derringers.
The Blackjack is not a primary carry gun for most shooters, but it excels as a backup, truck gun, or deep-concealment option when other firearms aren't practical. Its compact footprint, dual-caliber capability, and stainless durability make it a solid choice for those who understand and respect the derringer's role in a defensive toolkit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch between .45 Colt and .410 ammunition?
Yes. The Blackjack comes with a 3.5-inch barrel chambered for both .45 LC and .410 GA, and you can fire either round through the same barrel. You can also purchase and install other Bond Arms barrels in different calibers without needing to buy a separate gun.
What derringer calibers are compatible with this gun besides .45 and .410?
The Blackjack is compatible with all standard Bond Arms interchangeable barrels, which are available in calibers such as .38 Special, 9mm, and .357 Magnum, among others. Check Bond Arms' barrel offerings for the full range of options.
What's included with the Blackjack?
The Blackjack comes as a complete firearm with the 3.5-inch barrel chambered in .45 LC / .410 GA, extended black ash grips, and all internal components (hammer, firing pins, extractor, safety lever) installed and ready to function.
Is this gun suitable for concealed carry or backup?
The Blackjack's compact size (5.5 inches overall, 22 ounces) and simple operation make it practical for deep concealment or backup carry. Derringers are best understood as close-range defensive tools or specialized niche firearms; they are not primary-carry weapons for most shooters.
