The Bergara Premier BPR26-65PRC Canyon is a lightweight hunting rifle built for shooters who want genuine custom quality without the custom-grade weight penalty. Chambered in 6.5 PRC with a 20-inch fluted barrel, this rifle bridges the gap between a purpose-built long-range rig and a packable hunting gun—perfect for anyone serious about the 6.5 PRC cartridge but unwilling to compromise on portability. The Premier Series represents Bergara's approach to affordable performance: standardized engineering and production efficiency that delivers near-custom results at prices real hunters can justify.
At the heart of the Canyon is Bergara's proprietary Premier action, a two-lug design featuring a separate floating bolt head, non-rotating gas shield, coned bolt nose for smooth feeding, and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor. The stainless steel bolt components are Nitrided for durability and self-lubricating properties. The barrel—a Bergara premium stainless steel made at their facility in Spain—arrives finished in Sniper Grey Cerakote and is free-floated within the stock for consistent accuracy. The No. 4 fluted profile cuts weight while the 5/8-24 threaded muzzle accepts the included Omni brake, reducing felt recoil when shooting the hard-hitting 6.5 PRC.
The Canyon stock is 100% carbon fiber from AG Composites, delivering rigidity and minimal weight gain. The rifle ships with an M5 floor plate system, giving you flexibility to run either the included 3-round AICS-style detachable magazine or a hinged floor plate—your choice based on hunt style or regulations. The two-position safety integrates with a TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology trigger, and a unique feature allows the bolt handle to remain unlocked in safe mode, making unloading safer and simpler. Overall length runs 41 inches, and the rifle weighs between 6.2 and 6.5 pounds—genuinely light without feeling fragile.
If you're running Remington 700 scope bases (8-40 screws), the Canyon is ready to accept your favorite optic and go to work. This is a no-nonsense rifle for 6.5 PRC shooters who understand that weight matters on the mountain but accuracy matters more.
