The Bergara B-14 Timber rifle in .243 Win with a 22" barrel is a walnut-stocked hunting rifle built on the reputation Bergara earned crafting custom barrels for demanding shooters. This production rifle brings that same precision-barrel heritage to a platform designed for serious hunters who won't compromise on accuracy or fit without overpaying. The B-14 Timber pairs Bergara's hammer-forged barrel with a smooth two-lug action and a curved trigger set at roughly three pounds—everything tuned for clean, repeatable shots in the field.

What sets the Timber apart is the engineering in the stock and action. The walnut furniture features a Monte Carlo profile with a raised comb and cheek piece for a solid shooting position, while the action itself uses a sliding-plate extractor and coned bolt nose and breech for reliable feeding and extraction. Factory-drilled and tapped for Remington 700 rings and bases, the rifle accepts standard accessories without modification. The hinged floor plate keeps things practical for hunters who reload or swap ammunition in the field.

The stock construction reflects Bergara's Spanish manufacturing: two oversized holes are precision-filled with metal-infused epoxy and then CNC-machined to exact tolerances, creating solid pillars around the action screws for rigidity where it matters most. The stock finishes with multiple coats of oil, developing a patina over time. The No. 4 barrel sports a Graphite Black Cerakote finish that resists weather. At 7.3 to 7.6 lbs with an overall length between 41.5" and 44", the Timber balances portability with the sight radius and barrel length that make .243 Win hunting loads shoot their best.

The .243 Winchester is a versatile cartridge: flat-shooting enough for varmint work, gentle enough for smaller-framed hunters and shooters sensitive to recoil, yet capable in the hands of someone who understands its effective range. On a Bergara action and barrel, you're working with tools built to take full advantage of that ballistic middle ground.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scope mount system does the B-14 Timber use?

The rifle is factory drilled and tapped to fit Remington 700 style rings and bases with 6-48 screws. This is the most common standard in the industry, so you have plenty of mounting options from any major optics manufacturer.

Is the .243 Winchester suitable for hunting big game?

The .243 Win is a versatile cartridge most effective on varmints and smaller game. Shot placement and range awareness matter as much as caliber choice. Always verify your local hunting regulations and match cartridge and bullet selection to your intended game and hunting distance.

How does the trigger feel out of the box?

The Bergara curved performance trigger is factory-set to break at approximately 3 pounds. It's designed for a crisp, clean pull. If you need adjustment beyond that, a gunsmith can tune it further.

What's included with the rifle?

The B-14 Timber comes as a complete rifle. You'll need to add a scope and rings to begin shooting. The rifle ships unscoped so you can choose optics that fit your hunting style and budget.
