The Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0 .308 Win bolt-action rifle delivers genuine mountain-hunting capability without the weight penalty. Built in Lawrenceville, Georgia, this rifle strips away unnecessary bulk while keeping the precision engineering that makes Bergara barrels sought after by serious hunters. At just 6.2–6.4 lbs, it's purpose-built for the kinds of hunts where every ounce matters—steep terrain, long approaches, and the kind of country where you'll be carrying your rifle all day.
The action is a clean two-lug design with a separate floating bolt head that guarantees consistent contact with the lug abutments, feeding smoothly thanks to the cone-shaped bolt nose. The bolt itself is stainless steel with fully Nitrided carrier, gas shield, handle, and shroud—treating all the high-wear parts to survive hard use and self-lubricate in the process. A spring-loaded sliding plate extractor handles the front of the lower locking lug, eliminating one more failure point.
Where the Mountain 2.0 really shows its intent is the AG Composite 100% carbon-fiber stock, engineered to keep weight to a minimum without sacrificing rigidity. The .308 Winchester chambering offers proven ballistics for most hunting scenarios, backed by Bergara's premium stainless barrel finished in Tactical Grey Cerakote. TriggerTech's Frictionless Release Technology trigger breaks clean and predictably—the kind of trigger that matters when your shot counts.
This is a rifle for hunters who've learned that lighter isn't a luxury; it's a practical advantage in the field. Hinged floorplate magazine, No. 3 taper barrel in your choice of 22- or 24-inch length, and Remington 700 base compatibility round out a purpose-focused platform.
