The Bergara B-14 Wilderness Ridge .308 Win bolt-action rifle is built for hunters who refuse to be stopped by weather, terrain, or distance. This rifle splits the difference between Bergara's core B-14 line and their premium offerings, delivering serious backcountry performance without unnecessary frills. Chambered in the versatile .308 Winchester, it's equally at home on a Western hunt, across the Midwest, or anywhere unpredictable conditions demand a rifle you can trust.

The Wilderness Ridge starts with Bergara's renowned barrel—a No. 5 taper profile finished in Sniper Grey Cerakote for superior corrosion resistance in harsh weather. The muzzle carries a seamless omnidirectional and multi-ported brake that cuts felt recoil by up to 35 percent, making follow-up shots faster and more accurate. Below that sits Bergara's smooth B-14 action, a two-lug system with a sliding plate extractor and coned bolt nose and breech that cycles like it's on rails. Every rifle ships factory drilled and tapped for Remington 700 style rings and bases, so you can mount glass without trips to a gunsmith.

What sets the Wilderness Ridge apart is its hand-painted woodland camo stock—not a generic dip job, but actual craftsmanship. The American-style synthetic design features a SoftTouch finish and textured webbing that improves grip in wet conditions. A Bergara Performance Trigger breaks cleanly, and the hinged floor plate makes magazine changes and field cleaning straightforward. At 7.4–7.9 pounds with a 20–26 inch barrel (this model carries the full 26 inch), the Wilderness Ridge balances handling and velocity for real-world hunting.

This is a rifle for people who view wilderness as an experience, not a destination—hunters who'll use it hard and expect it to answer the call, trip after trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scopes and bases fit the Bergara B-14 Wilderness Ridge?

The rifle is factory drilled and tapped to accept Remington 700 style rings and bases, using standard 6-48 screws. This means you have access to the widest selection of quality rings and mounts on the market, from budget-friendly aluminum sets to premium steel options.

Does the muzzle brake really reduce recoil, and can I remove it?

The omnidirectional multi-ported muzzle brake is rated to reduce felt recoil by up to 35 percent. The brake is threaded 5/8-24, which is the industry standard for .308 rifles. If you want to swap it for a suppressor, flash hider, or a different brake, the threaded muzzle makes that swap simple.

How many rounds does the magazine hold?

The .308 Winchester version uses a hinged floor plate and holds 4 rounds in standard configuration.

Is this rifle suitable for long-range hunting?

Yes. The .308 Winchester is a proven cartridge for hunting at extended ranges, and the B-14 Wilderness Ridge's smooth action, quality trigger, and threaded barrel setup all support accurate shooting. You'll want to pair it with quality glass and a solid understanding of ballistics, but the rifle itself is built to deliver when you do your part.
