Barrel Description:
Carbon Fiber

The Bergara BMR in .17 HMR is a purpose-built rimfire rifle designed for hunters and competitive shooters who refuse to compromise on accuracy or handling. Built on Bergara's proprietary BMR action and topped with a lightweight carbon fiber barrel, this rimfire delivers the precision and portability serious small-game hunters and NRL22 competitors demand. The .17 HMR chambering makes it an excellent choice for extended-range varmint and small-game work, where its flat trajectory and velocity give you a real edge in the field.

The 18-inch carbon fiber barrel keeps overall weight down to just 5-5.4 lbs, making this rifle genuinely packable for day-long hunts without fatigue. A 1:9 twist rate stabilizes .17 HMR ammunition, while the match-grade chamber delivers the kind of consistency you'll notice on paper or steel. The muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 and includes a thread protector, so you can add a suppressor or muzzle brake later if your shooting evolves. A 30 MOA picatinny rail comes factory-installed, giving you plenty of adjustment range for long-distance shooting or lower-power optics.

The trigger is Bergara's own Performance Trigger—a crisp, shootable unit that's compatible with Remington 700 aftermarket parts if you want to customize further. The stock wears a black finish with tactical gray speckling, striking a practical balance between field durability and aesthetics. This configuration ships with a 5-round magazine, ideal for hunting applications where capacity isn't a concern and ammunition is simply loaded as needed. Overall length runs 36 inches, making it compact enough for truck racks and tight hunting blinds.

Whether you're running stages at a rimfire match or pursuing prairie dogs and coyotes across open country, the BMR .17 HMR earns its place in the lineup through genuine engineering and real-world testing. It's lightweight, accurate, and built by a company that actually listens to what shooters need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle suited for long-range varmint hunting?

Yes. The .17 HMR chambering and 1:9 twist rate are designed for this purpose. The 30 MOA rail gives you plenty of adjustment range for extended-distance shooting, and the match-grade chamber delivers the consistency that longer-range work demands. Pair it with an appropriate scope and you'll have a capable varmint setup.

Can I use a suppressor on this rifle?

The muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 and includes a thread protector, making it suppressor-ready. A compatible suppressor can be added later if desired.

What magazine comes with the BMR?

This .17 HMR model includes a 5-round magazine, optimized for hunting applications. Additional magazines may be available separately.

Is this rifle compatible with Remington 700 aftermarket parts?

The trigger is Remington 700-compatible, so you have upgrade options in that ecosystem if you choose to customize the trigger further in the future.
