The Zastava PAP M90 is a semi-automatic rifle built on the proven M70 platform and chambered in 5.56x45mm—a versatile choice for hunters, sport shooters, and anyone who values reliability in a modern rifle. This Serbian-made rifle strips away unnecessary complexity in favor of straightforward function: it's designed to work in harsh conditions, handle well under recoil, and deliver consistent accuracy without fuss. Whether you're hunting medium game, running drills at the range, or just adding a dependable rifle to your collection, the PAP M90 brings rugged Balkan engineering to an affordable package.

What sets the PAP M90 apart is its attention to the details that actually matter. The barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome lined—that means longevity and corrosion resistance whether you're shooting in wet climates or storing the rifle long-term. The 1.5mm bulged trunnion receiver is built stout, the gas system is adjustable so you can tune it for reliability across different ammunition and environmental extremes, and it ships with a 30-round polymer magazine and adjustable iron sights right out of the box. At 18.25 inches, the barrel strikes a balance: long enough for decent velocity and accuracy, short enough to handle in tight spaces. The overall length is 39 inches, and the gun weighs just 8.5 pounds—manageable for a full day afield.

This is a rifle that doesn't demand constant fiddling or high-dollar upgrades to run well. The safety lever includes a bolt hold-open notch, the Serbian red furniture has character, and the semi-automatic operation means any shooter, new or experienced, can operate it safely and effectively. If you're looking for a straightforward, reliable 5.56 rifle that won't break the bank, the PAP M90 deserves a serious look.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ammunition does the Zastava PAP M90 shoot?

The PAP M90 is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, the same round as the AR-15 and military M16/M4 platforms. This is one of the most common rifle cartridges in North America, so ammunition is widely available and affordable.

Can I adjust the gas system if the rifle isn't cycling reliably?

Yes. The PAP M90 features an adjustable gas system that allows you to tune the rifle for different ammunition types and operating conditions, ensuring reliable function across a range of loads and environments.

What comes with the rifle, and what sights does it have?

The PAP M90 ships with a 30-round polymer magazine and adjustable iron sights for both windage and elevation. You can use these sights right out of the box or add an optic rail system if you prefer a scope or red dot.

Is the PAP M90 good for hunting?

The PAP M90 is a capable and reliable platform suitable for hunters. The 5.56x45mm round is appropriate for varmint and small-to-medium game hunting, depending on your local regulations. Its manageable recoil, lightweight design, and inherent accuracy make it a practical choice for this role.
