The Winchester XPR Scope Combo in .300 Win Mag is a factory-ready, bolt-action rifle built for hunters who want to reach out past 300 yards without spending half their budget on glass. This is a complete rifle—Winchester's proven XPR action paired with a 26-inch barrel and a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 scope already mounted and bore-sighted. You open the box, throw on a sling, and you're ready for a hunt. The .300 Winchester Magnum is the gold standard for elk, mule deer, and long-range game across North America, and this combo gives you the rifle and optic to make that happen in one purchase.
The XPR's bolt is smooth and reliable, and the 3-round magazine keeps the rifle balanced and quick to reload in the field. The 26-inch barrel maximizes velocity and gives you the ballistic advantage the cartridge is known for, while the 1:10 twist rate is optimized to stabilize premium hunting bullets. The matte blued finish on the barrel and matte black stock are built to shed glare and blend into brush—nothing shiny to catch an animal's eye at 400 yards. Total weight comes in at 8 pounds 8 ounces, which is reasonable for a magnum rifle that's ready to hunt straight out of the box. At 46.5 inches overall, it's handy enough to carry through timber but long enough to deliver the performance you paid for.
The included Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 is a dependable, entry-level hunting scope that will do the job. It's not a match-grade precision optic, but it's a solid, affordably-made scope from a company that stands behind its warranty. For most hunters doing field shooting to 400 yards, it's a practical choice. If you want to upgrade or swap glass later, the XPR is built on standard Picatinny rails and accepts any modern scope mount.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swap out the included scope for something else?
Yes. The Winchester XPR uses standard Picatinny rails, so any modern riflescope will fit. If you want to upgrade to a heavier-duty optic for long-range work or low-light hunting, you can install it yourself or have a gunsmith do it.
Is the .300 Win Mag too powerful for deer hunting?
The .300 Win Mag is more than enough for deer, but it's really at home on elk, moose, and mule deer at extended range. It's a versatile cartridge that works on game from 100 to 500 yards if you do your part with bullet placement.
What does this rifle come ready to do out of the box?
The rifle ships with the Vortex Crossfire II scope mounted and bore-sighted. You'll want to fine-tune the zero at a range before heading to the field, but you won't need to buy or install anything else to shoot.
How manageable is the recoil of this combo?
The .300 Win Mag produces significant recoil—expect around 25-26 foot-pounds depending on bullet weight and ammunition type. The 8.5-pound weight of this rifle helps manage it better than a lighter rifle would, but if you're sensitive to recoil, shooting it before you hunt is important. A recoil pad can help further if needed.
