The Winchester XPR Hunter .270 Win rifle in True Timber Strata camo is a modern bolt-action hunting rifle built for serious hunters who want reliability and accuracy without the premium price tag. Winchester's XPR combines proven long-action design with features usually found on much more expensive rifles, making it an excellent choice for whitetail, mule deer, and other medium to large game where the .270 Winchester is a proven performer.
Built on a steel receiver with a precision button-rifled, free-floating barrel, the XPR delivers consistent accuracy from shot to shot. The Permacote FDE finish on both receiver and barrel resists corrosion in the field, and the recessed target crown protects the bore. Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger system provides a clean, predictable break, while the two-position thumb safety and bolt unlock button give you control when it matters. The composite stock wears True Timber's Strata camouflage pattern—a proven blend of earth tones and natural breaks that works across diverse terrain—and features Inflex Technology in the recoil pad to manage the .270's moderate kick without sacrificing feel or feedback.
At 7 pounds with a 24-inch barrel and 44.5-inch overall length, the XPR balances pointability in thick country with the velocity the .270 needs for extended-range work. The 13.75-inch length of pull fits most adult shooters comfortably, and the drilled and tapped receiver accepts standard Weaver-pattern scope mounts. The three-round magazine keeps things trim while providing adequate capacity for most hunting situations. Sling swivel studs come installed, so you're ready to head afield once you mount glass and establish a zero.
This is a no-frills, practical hunting rifle from a maker with over a century of firearms heritage. If you're looking for a .270 that delivers performance and reliability at a fair price, the XPR Hunter deserves a close look.

Frequently Asked Questions
What scope mounts work with the Winchester XPR Hunter?
The receiver is drilled and tapped for Weaver-pattern scope mounts, which is the standard for most modern hunting rifles. You can use any Weaver or Picatinny rail ring system.
Is the .270 Winchester good for hunting deer and larger game?
Yes. The .270 Winchester is a classic, versatile cartridge proven on whitetail, mule deer, elk, and other medium to large game. It offers excellent range, velocity, and energy retention for hunters looking to take ethical shots beyond 200 yards.
Does the XPR come ready to shoot out of the box?
The rifle comes with sling swivel studs installed, but you'll need to mount an optic and zero it before hunting. No scope is included.
What does the Inflex Technology recoil pad do?
The Inflex pad is designed to absorb and manage recoil energy, reducing felt kick while maintaining natural feedback during the shot. This helps with follow-up accuracy and shooter comfort during extended range sessions.
