The Winchester SXP Youth Field 20-gauge pump-action shotgun is built for younger and smaller-framed shooters who are stepping into hunting and sport shooting. At just 38.5 inches overall with a 12-inch length of pull, this 20-inch barreled gun gives you a fast-handling platform that doesn't sacrifice the reliability Winchester is known for. The 3-inch chamber handles both 3-inch and 2.75-inch ammunition, so you're not locked into one load type, and the 20-gauge delivers plenty of pattern for upland birds, small game, and clay work without the punishing recoil of a full-size 12-gauge.

Built on an aluminum-alloy receiver with a matte black finish, the SXP Youth Field pairs straightforward, durable engineering with a Grade I walnut stock finished in satin—a classic look that feels good in your hands. The hard chrome-plated chamber and bore stand up to repeated shooting, and the three Invector-Plus choke tubes give you the flexibility to dial in your pattern from tight to open. A brass bead front sight keeps your focus on the target, and the gun tips the scales at just 6 pounds, making it natural for a younger shooter to carry all day.

Length-of-pull spacers are included so you can grow with the gun or fine-tune the fit right out of the box. If you're introducing someone to shotgun shooting or hunting, or if you're a smaller-framed shooter yourself looking for a no-nonsense, reliable pump gun, the Winchester SXP Youth Field is a straightforward choice that won't let you down.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this shotgun suitable for a young or smaller shooter?

Yes. The Winchester SXP Youth Field is specifically designed for younger and smaller-framed shooters. At 12 inches of length of pull and 38.5 inches overall, it's more compact than a standard shotgun. The included length-of-pull spacers let you adjust the fit now and make room for growth as the shooter develops.

What ammunition does this shotgun shoot?

The 3-inch chamber accepts both 3-inch and 2.75-inch 20-gauge shotshells, giving you flexibility in ammunition choice. Magazine capacity is 5 rounds when using 2.75-inch shells.

What choke tubes come with this gun?

The Winchester SXP Youth Field ships with three Invector-Plus choke tubes, allowing you to adjust the shot pattern from tight to open depending on your hunting or sport-shooting needs.

What's the difference between a 20-gauge and a 12-gauge shotgun?

A 20-gauge fires a smaller, lighter payload than a 12-gauge, resulting in less recoil and reduced fatigue over a long day of shooting. For upland birds, small game, and clay shooting, the 20-gauge is effective and far more manageable for younger or lighter-recoiling-sensitive shooters. It's why it's a popular choice for introducing someone to shotgun shooting.
