The Winchester SXP Upland Field 20-gauge is a pump-action shotgun built for hunters who appreciate both function and aesthetics. This isn't your bare-bones workhorse—it's a 3-inch chambered 20-gauge that combines the reliability of Winchester's SXP platform with genuine artisan detail. The receiver features a hand-engraved upland game scene finished in matte nickel, while the Grade II/III Turkish walnut furniture showcases satin varnish work that frames the blued barrel beautifully. This is a gun designed to be owned proudly and passed down.
The 26-inch barrel wears a ventilated rib and matte blued finish, paired with a chrome-plated chamber and bore for longevity. Winchester equipped this SXP with practical hunting features: a TRUGLO fiber-optic front sight for quick target acquisition in low light, Winchester's Inflex Technology recoil pad to manage 20-gauge recoil comfortably, and three Invector-Plus choke tubes so you can dial in your shot pattern for different upland game and distances. The pump action is smooth and reliable—the same proven mechanism that's earned Winchester's reputation in the field.
If you've hesitated to invest in a pump shotgun because you thought quality wood and embellishment were reserved for gas guns and over-unders, the SXP Upland Field changes that equation. This 20-gauge splits the difference between a gun you'll actually hunt with and a gun you'll want to display. For upland bird hunters who value craftsmanship, recoil management, and a shotgun that looks the part, it's a genuine alternative to the mass-produced lineup.

Frequently Asked Questions
What choke tubes come with the Winchester SXP Upland Field?
Three Invector-Plus choke tubes are included, allowing you to adjust your shot pattern for different upland game and hunting distances.
Is the 20-gauge SXP Upland Field suitable for hunting?
Yes. The 3-inch chamber, 26-inch barrel, ventilated rib, and included choke tubes make it a practical upland bird hunting shotgun. The TRUGLO fiber-optic sight aids target acquisition, and the Inflex Technology recoil pad helps manage recoil during extended hunting days.
What is the barrel finish and receiver material?
The barrel is matte blued steel with a ventilated rib and chrome-plated chamber and bore. The receiver is aluminum alloy with a matte nickel finish and hand-engraved upland game scene.
Does the engraving and walnut make this gun impractical for field use?
No. While the Grade II/III Turkish walnut and engraved receiver give this SXP aesthetic appeal, it remains a fully functional pump-action hunting shotgun. The satin varnish finish protects the wood for field conditions, and the aluminum receiver and matte nickel finish are durable.
